I fell asleep early on my big day off. I woke up at 3 AM and made wild amounts of food. It was a beautiful and awkward day. Cheers to you!
I was about 10 years old, when I started digging into music that I wanted to hear. I had a Panasonic tape recorder with a radio, and I exclusively recorded songs from the radio.
I took copious notes on graph paper, and I still remember writing “The Whistling Song” for “Dock of theBay,” because I caught the song late on the radio.
“Killer” by Alice Cooper and “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC were pretty formative, but all the music I found was equal in my brain. “Let’s Disco.” “A Little More Love” by Olivia Newton-John. I don’t have enough thumbs to type out all the songs.
College radio was something I did not only appreciate, but also something I participated in. I recently talked to a woman who had my favorite show when I was a young man. It’s a good thing to tell people how they mattered.
I had my own show, and I only remember “A Way.”
