I had a funny idea for part of a horror game. So on your first playthrough one of the first weapons you get is a knife. It's not particularly fast or damaging, attacks about once a second, with a stab or cut depending on which button you press, and exists mostly as a back up for when you run out of ammo or have memorized the enemies' movement patterns to the degree you can use it to conserve ammo.
On a later run of the game, you play as a different character and go through largely the same areas as the first time. In a character bio or an intro cutscene it's quietly mentioned that they have training or a special interest in knife combat or whatever.
You go to pick up your first weapon, the knife, same as before.
You use the knife in the air.
They attack four times faster than the previous character.
You stab your first enemy.
You get a prompt to use the cut button while the knife is still inside the enemy.
You use it.
Massive bonus damage.
