summary: 1k. a soft, love-soaked moment between johnny kavanagh and you, while adjusting to life with your newborn baby <3
cw: fluff, new parents, johnny kavanagh is a softie, gentle intimacy, english is not my first language xx.
authorâs note: i tried to replicate the tone from the original series even when english is not my mother tongue, donât come for me!
currently playing: oh my angel
The first thing you become aware of is warmth.
Not the hospital blankets or the dull heat pulsing behind your tired eyes, but a deeper, living warmth â the kind that wraps around your heart before your mind fully wakes.
You blink slowly, the world taking a second to come into focus. The room is dim, quiet, the curtain drawn. A soft rustling sound pulls your attention to the side⊠and there he is.
Johnny Kavanagh, sitting in the armchair pulled right up to the bed, massive hands curled around the tiniest bundle youâve ever seen.
Your baby.
Your breath catches, and even in the low light you see Johnnyâs head snap up, his whole face breaking open into that bright, boyish grin he saves for very few people in the world.
âHi, love,â he whispers, voice raspy from hours of not sleeping. âLook whoâs awake.â
He shifts carefully, the little bundle rising with him, and moves toward the bed. Heâs still in the clothes he wore during the birth â track pants and a soft hoodie â crumpled, stained, and clinging to him in a way that tells you he hasnât left that chair for more than a minute.
You try to sit up, wincing slightly, but Johnny is already at your side, lowering himself onto the mattress and slipping an arm behind your shoulders to help.
âEasy,â he murmurs, kissing the side of your head. âYouâve done enough superhero work for one lifetime.â
You exhale a laugh, small but genuine. âLet me see him.â
Johnnyâs grin grows impossibly wider. He shifts so that the baby rests between you both, tiny and impossibly peaceful in his fatherâs arms. Johnny looks down at him like heâs the most miraculous thing to ever happen â and to him, he probably is.
âHeâs been sleeping like this the whole time,â he says quietly, brushing the softest thumb over the babyâs cheek. âSnoring too. Just like his mam.â
âJohnny!â
He laughs under his breath, pressing a quick kiss to your temple. âIâm only joking. Kinda.â
The baby stirs, a small, wrinkled movement, and Johnnyâs lips part in awe, like he canât believe this is real. You watch him â the way his whole body softens, the gentle tightening of his arms, the tenderness in his eyes â and your chest swells so much it almost aches.
âYouâre a natural,â you whisper.
His cheeks go a little pink. âI dunno about that. Iâm afraid to breathe too hard.â
âYouâre doing perfectly.â
He leans his forehead against yours, exhaling shakily. âI canât stop looking at him.â
âI know.â
âI keep thinkinâ⊠we made him,â he says, wonder thick in his voice. âLike⊠thatâs actually our son. Our little lad.â
Your eyes burn, but in the warm, happy way. âHeâs perfect.â
Johnny shifts, letting you take the baby in your arms. The moment the weight settles against your chest, everything else disappears â the soreness, the exhaustion, the hours of labour. His tiny fist uncurls against your skin, and you melt.
Johnny lies beside you, stretching out on the narrow hospital bed even though itâs too small for him, but he makes it work, sliding one arm under your shoulders so youâre leaning against him. He rests his chin on your hair.
âWeâre a family now,â he whispers, almost like heâs afraid saying it too loudly will break the spell.
You turn your head slightly, pressing your lips to his jaw. âYeah. We are.â
A soft knock on the door pulls you both from the quiet bubble youâve been floating in.
Johnny straightens, sitting up a little. âThatâll be Mam and Da.â
A nervous excitement flashes across his face â the same look he gets before big matches, except softer, more personal.
âYou ready?â he asks you gently.
You nod, adjusting the baby in your arms.
He opens the door, and Mrs. Kavanagh bursts in with watery eyes and a hand already pressed to her chest.
âOh, Johnny,â she breathes, brushing past him with zero hesitation. âOh, sweetheart, look at him!â
She comes to your side, eyes shining. âLove, may I hold him?â
âOf course,â you say, handing her the baby carefully.
She cradles him with practiced ease, rocking gently, tears spilling over. âHeâs gorgeous. A perfect wee angel.â
Johnnyâs father steps in more quietly, but thereâs no hiding the pride in his face. He claps a hand on Johnnyâs shoulder, squeezing firmly.
âWell done, son.â
Johnny swallows, emotion tightening his throat. âThanks, Da.â
His mother looks up suddenly. âWhatâs his name? You settled on it?â
You and Johnny share a look â the soft, secret kind that says yeah, this feels right â and he answers:
Johnny slips his hand into yours under the blanket, giving it a little squeeze. You squeeze back.
His parents take turns cooing, admiring, murmuring sweet nothings, and Johnny watches all of it with the biggest smile youâve ever seen on him â proud, emotional, and absolutely in love.
When his parents leave, promising to return with food and a ridiculous amount of photos printed out already, Johnny climbs back into the bed beside you.
He pulls you close, his arm warm and steady around you, and rests his hand gently on your sonâs back.
âGet some sleep,â he murmurs, kissing your forehead.
âYou too.â
He laughs softly. âNot a chance Iâm sleepinâ tonight. Gotta keep an eye on my two favourite people.â
Your heart swells again.
âJohnnyâŠâ
âHmm?â
âI love you.â
His smile goes soft and slow. âI love you too, love. More than anything.â
He kisses you again, lingering, then shifts just enough to tuck the baby safely between you both.
And for the first time as parents, the three of you fall asleep together â warm, safe, and completely wrapped in love.

Dad!Johnny sat red-eyed and stared blearily at the TV screen on the wall. He was tired. He was worn. He was downright exhausted. So exhausted that his eyes could barely focus on the bouncing blue dog on the screen leaving clues.
On any normal day, he would be happy to help the man in the striped shirt look for clues, but today was not a normal day. Today, Johnny had been up since nearly four in the morning with a sick and sniffling 18-month-old. It was only fair, after all, you'd been up with him most of the night.
His poor son sat with watery eyes, right beside Johnny. His small head rested on Johnny's arm and his small hand wrapped around a single one of his dad's fingers. Two days of this season's first cold and it seemed no amount of grape flavored, children's cold medicine was relieving the baby's clinginess.
Fever? Managed. Congestion? On the up and up. Cough? Clearing up every hour. But the clinginess that mixed with the fatigue? Well, that wasn't getting any better. It was honestly a shock to Johnny that his son wasn't squirming his way into his lap.
You'd slipped out of the house just a half an hour ago to restock on cold medicine after catching up on a couple hours of sleep. A short bout that had started just a few minutes before you woke up to your son whining while desperately trying to cling onto you as Johnny took over for his early morning "shift."
A clue was found on the TV show with an excited exclamation that had Johnny startling awake from a nap he didn't know he'd started taking. His son whined softly and sure enough, was climbing into his dad's lap before laying his head back against Johnny's broad chest.
Johnny sighs and gently drags his fingers through his son's silky hair. He can't help the tired smile that spreads across his face as his son hums contently with a stuffy inhale.
It's the very sight you see when you walk through the door with a box far too big to be more Tylenol. Johnny arches his brow at you before rasping out, "what else did you buy?"
"Another humidifier! It was on sale! Now we can have one for the living room on the coffee table," you explain, setting the box down before kneeling before your family. Your hand gently cups your sons cheek with your other hand pressed against his forehead, "fever feels like it's gone down some. Oh my baby, are you feeling better?"
Your son hums, leaning into your touch as Johnny grabs a tissue to wipe up the mess of mucus running from his son's nose. His son whines and squirms away from his dad's touch. Johnny sighs but cleans him up anyway, watching again and his son chooses instead to reach for you as if to tell his dad that he was not happy with being taken care of.
You laugh softly, scooping the boy into your arms as you take his previous seat, right beside Johnny who more than happily wraps an arm around your shoulders.
You keep your voice low as your son starts to blink slowly, the blue dog on the screen no longer enough to keep him awake as his parents surround him with love and affection, "we should have a lazy day. We're all tired."
Johnny plays with his son's hair, lulling the boy to sleep as he presses a kiss to your forehead, "I absolutely agree."
You expect him to pull away, to go back to cuddling you, instead, you hear, "Babe, you feel a little warm." Uh oh.
Summary: Johnny isnât the type to commit but he was willing to do it with you. When a surprise pops up, things take an unexpected turn.
Johnny didnât know what to think at that moment. After all this time, he assumed that he would never see or hear from him again. He had so many questions.Â
What were you doing here? Had you been living in Busan this whole time? Did having an abortion take a toll on your mental health? Did you hate him for what happened and the predicament heâd put you in? Were youâŠokay? Most importantly, why would you up and leave like that? Without so much as a âI hate you and I never want to see you againâ text. Without so much as an âIâm leaving Seoul.â He deserved at least that, didnât he?
From what he could see you looked exactly the same, just with a more mature look to you. You were never adventurous when it came to your hair but he noticed you had light brown highlights now. He thought they looked nice.Â
To be honest, seeing you brought about a whirlwind of memories. He remembered the first time he met you, when you were working part time at the convenience store near his best friendâs house. And he found himself going to see Mark more often, just so he could possibly see you. Then he got the courage to ask you if your shift was over soon and if you wanted to get something to eat. You said, âI get off in an hour...Iâd also love something to eat.â
And he smiled and said, âSee you in an hour.â
That memory made Johnny feel warm and fuzzy inside, especially as he looked into your eyes. You looked shocked, to say the least. But for some reason, you also looked scared. Maybe Johnny was misreading the situation but little did he know that you had been carrying a huge secret on your shoulders all this time.Â
But Johnny couldnât help but feel a little hurt seeing you here like this. He hadnât got a call, a text, or anything of that nature. He just found your apartment with a new person in it and no explanation. He never got any closure with you and that hurt him. It was something he never got over. Since then, he had abandonment issues. He constantly worried whether he was good enough or whether someone would leave him. Unfortunately, those issues had leaked into past relationships and he could admit that those relationships ended at his own hand. But he liked to think that heâd matured a bit since then. He tried his best not to project his own feelings onto anyone else. And heâd vowed not to do that with Hyeri. There were times when he wondered where she was going and who she was going with but he never asked, no matter how much he wanted to.
Before Johnny could ask any questions or make any comments, the young girl from earlier popped up. She looked at him for a moment, with wide, curious eyes, before looking at you. She said, âMommy, can I have more water?â
Hesitating, you nodded. âIâll bring you water in a minute, okay? You can go back outside.â
The girl smiled briefly, hugged your leg, and left the two of you alone. This interaction left Johnny uncomfortable because he had some ideas about what happened.Â
âY/N?â Johnny felt a little uneasy.
âUh,â you said, becoming visibly nervous. âHi, Johnny.â
Johnny bit his lip, gathering his thoughts for a second. âDid youâŠdid you have the baby, Y/N?â
âIâŠâ You tried to find words but you couldnât. Even if you found words, your jaw was frozen and locked. You didnât think you could speak, even if you tried.
Tears started building up in Johnnyâs eyes. âDid you have the baby?â
You blinked away tears but still couldnât speak. You turned your head, looking down at the ground instead of meeting his gaze. You felt ashamed, unprepared for this moment. There were a million things you wanted to say if this moment came. The moment had finally come and your mouth was dry.Â
You were frustrated because youâd been preparing. You were literally on the verge of pressing send on that message. This couldâve been a different scenario and it couldâve been a different conversation. At least in those cases, he wouldâve already known. But that was assuming he wouldâve seen the messages. Youâd tried to prevent the situation from blowing up, but the time had come. And you had no control.Â
âIs she my daughter?â he asked, voice cracking with every word. âIs that our daughter?â You couldnât say anything, so you just nodded slowly.Â
Johnnyâs tears finally fell. He didnât know what to think at that moment. He felt so many things and it was hard to process it all at once. Â
He was angry because he never had a chance to get to know her. He was angry because he never knew that she existed in the first place. Did she know that she had a dad, a dad that wouldâve been willing to do whatever it took to keep her smiling?Â
He was happy because he had a daughter. Despite finding out now, his heart felt full. He wasnât sure what the future held but he wanted to know her and to be a good father to her. It was what she deserved since he didnât have a chance to be there for her. She at least deserved to have him in her life. He wanted to know her. He wanted to know what her favorite color wasÂ
Johnny asked, âWhatâs her name?â
You said, âAya.â
âThatâs prettyâŠâ There was a moment of painful silence before Johnnyâs swollen eyes met yours. âWhy wouldnât you tell me? All these years,â he said, shaking his head. âAll these years, I had a little girl out thereâŠand I had no idea.â
You but your lip. âIâm sorry, JohnnyâŠIâm so sorry. I really didnât mean for things to get like this.â
âSorry? You just disappeared that day. I looked for you, Y/N, and eventually I just gave up because I figured that maybe you didnât want to be found. But I gave up under the assumption you got the abortionâŠâ He wiped a tear with the back of his hand. âWho wouldâve thought you would have the baby?â
âI changed my mind about having an abortionâŠand I knew you didnât really want to have a baby..âÂ
âI know I mightâve said certain things back then but I was...just scared!â
âI was scared, too, Johnny! As time passed, I couldnât face you. It got harder and harder.â
Johnnyâs heart dropped. âSo you were going to let her grow up without me? Without knowing that Iâm her dad? Even if I wasnât planning on having kids at the time, I at least deserved to know! I wouldâve taken responsibility and I wouldâve raised her with you...whether we were together or not. I know that I didnât do right by you and maybe you had your doubts about me being a father. But I would never choose to abandon my child. I know you have your own idea of who I am but believe me when I say that Iâm not the same person I was back then, Y/N!â
âIâm so sorry, JohnnyâŠI know that nothing I say can make any of this better. I donât expect you to forgive me but I was planning on reaching out to you while I was here. Please believe that. I found your Instagram and I even started typing a message to you,â you said, taking out your phone. You showed him the message youâd started typing out. âI started but didnât finish. I didnât have a chance to press send and I ended up meeting you like this.â
Johnny looked at the message and he knew you were telling the truth. He bit his lip. Still, this was a lot for him to process. But this was reality. Neither one of them could build a Time Machine, get in it, and go back to simpler times. They couldnât change how things played out and this was the result.Â
All Johnny could think about was about the fact that he had a daughter and that he was a father. He was overwhelmed with emotions. Heâd seen her earlier and he wasnât able to put his finger on why he felt some strange connection to her, but now everything made sense. The little girl he assumed just looked like another child heâd seen before was his daughter. She was his daughter and from what he saw of her, she seemed to have some of his features.Â
âWell, thereâs nothing we can do to change the past right?â He took out his cellphone and handed it to you. âCan I have your number? Do you live in Busan now?â
As you put your number in his phone, you said, âJapan, actually. In Fukuoka.â
âWow,â Johnny said. âThatâs a little further than I thoughtâŠâ
âI just got here, so Iâll be here for a couple more days. Do you live in Busan now?â
Johnny shook his head. âI live in Seoul, still. I was supposed to go back on Monday but I can cancel the flight and go back to Seoul later in the week. I just want to have a chance to know herâŠâ
âOf course, Johnny,â she said. âDo you, um, want to meet her now?â
âI think this is a weird time. I want to meet her properly. Are you busy tomorrow?â
âI was going to take Aya to the beach. We can meet up before or after. Or, I mean, you can come with us. I think sheâd like that.â
âIâll be there. Just give me the name of the beach and a time.â
You gave him a small smile. âOkay, I havenât decided what time yet but Iâll let you know.âÂ
*
Johnny wasnât sure what to expect when he got back to the table. Hyeri said, âYou took a while. Did the prawns go right through you?â She let out a laugh but Johnny didnât return her laughter.Â
Reality was starting to hit him now, as Hyeri raised her eyebrows. He had a daughter, he realized. He had a daughter. Not only did he have no idea, he realized that Hyeri didnât know either. This wasnât something he could hide from her. He also didnât want to hide it. It wasnât his fault that this happened. It was unexpected but this was his new reality.Â
âAre you okay?â Hyeri asked, a moment later once Johnny started staring off into space with her first question unanswered.Â
The reality was that he was glancing back and forth from the table to his daughter, who was still sitting across the patio at the table from earlier. Sheâd switched chairs by now, opting for the seat facing the sun. She was peeking through her fingers at the sun, seemingly amazed by the vibrant colors of the sunset.Â
âYeah,â he said, âIâm fine. Letâs eat.â Johnny grabbed her bowl and began pouring the clam soup that had arrived while he was talking to you. He poured some for himself and they both started eating.Â
Hyeri thought it was strange that Johnny wasnât talking. The soup was good, amazing actually. And she thought it was strange that Johnny had absolutely nothing to say about it. He had become a bit of a foodie and usually heâd comment on the taste or say that heâd come again, or something of that nature. But Johnny was dead silent. The only sound that was heard was the clinking of their spoons against their bowls.Â
Hyeri, unable to leave it alone, said, âYouâre acting weird.â
Johnny was fed up. Hyeri wasnât doing anything that warranted being angry, but Johnny couldnât help but feel angry. Heâd just received this news and Hyeri was pressing him. It wasnât that he wanted to keep this from her or lie to her about it, but it seemed like a weird time to bring it up. In an ideal world, theyâd be at home and heâd sit her down and explain things calmly. Ideally, they wouldnât have had anything to drink, just to ensure that there were no heightened emotions. Ideally, you and Aya wouldnât be under the same roof. Hyeri wasnât the type to lash out, or was she? The more Johnny thought about it, the more he realized he didnât have the best understanding of her behavior. They hadnât dealt with any big issues and hadnât had a big argument. She was a bit spoiled, but that was pretty much all Johnny knew. After all, itâd only been a couple months.
Finally, Johnny took a deep breath and said, âI have something to tell youâŠâ
She raised her eyebrows, anticipating his answer. She was just confused as to what couldâve possibly happened during his five minute or so trip to the bathroom. âWhat is it?â
âI found out that I have a babyâŠâ
Hyeri frowned. âA baby? What do you mean, a baby?â
Johnny looked up to glance at Aya and found that you were coming out of the restaurant with the cup of water Aya had requested just a few minutes ago. Seeing you just now made Johnny feel worse about telling Hyeri. And it didnât help that Hyeri turned around to see just what the hell Johnny was so intrigued by.Â
Interestingly enough, Hyeri didnât put two and two together in that moment. Johnny was grateful. The last thing he wanted was for there to be a scene in the restaurant, especially not as a group of three made their way onto the patio.
You spoke. âHi, welcome. Would you like to sit inside or outside?â
One of the men in the group said, âItâs a bit hot, right? Letâs sit inside.â And with that, they followed you inside to be seated.
Johnnyâs attention went back to his still-confused girlfriend. She said, âDid you have a baby on the way when you started dating me? How old is this baby?â
âSheâs going to be four soon.â
Her face twisted into a look of confusion and anger. âAnd youâre just finding out? How is that possible, Johnny?â
âItâs a long story,â he said, âbut the point is that I have a daughter. I know it sounds strange b-â
âWait,â she said, interrupting Johnnyâs sentence, âyou told me about your ex before. You said she was pregnant and got an abortion. Is it her or is it someone else?â
âItâs her.â
âHow the fuck is that possible, Johnny? Why are you lying to me right now?â
âIâm not lying,â he said. âHow could I lie about something like this?â
âIt just doesnât make sense. She had an abortion. Did you get her pregnant again after that? I thought you two broke upâŠâ
âWe did break up and I thought she did get an abortion but she didnât.â
âAnd you believe her? How do you even know that kid is yours?â
âSheâs not that kind of person.â
âHow would you know? Didnât you say she up and left town?â
âShe did butâŠâ
âBut what? What kind of person hides their kid for four years and doesnât tell the father anything?â
At that point, Hyeri had a good argument. But he knew you and he knew that both of you had your faults. You were angry and upset. He didnât think you were innocent in doing this and, of course, he was hurt by the decisions youâd made but he wasnât going to put all the blame on you. He also played a part, but he wasnât going to put the blame on himself either. You were both at fault in this situation but he wasnât going to place more or less blame on either of you. What was the point, after all? The point was that Johnny had a daughter that he needed to take care of and be there for.Â
Johnny was angry with you for what youâd done but his desire to be a father overshadowed that. It would take some time to forgive you, he was sure, but it wasnât going to be helpful for him to hold it against you for so long.Â
âStop,â Johnny said. âWhatever happened, happened, Hyeri. The point is that I have a daughter and Iâm going to spend some time with her tomorrow.â Â
âTomorrow? What about our plans?â
âYes, tomorrow. Our plans will have to wait.â
âYou didnât even fucking know you had a kid fifteen minutes ago!âÂ
âI know this is hard to accept but I thought youâd be a little more supportive of me, of this!â
âYouâre insane!â
âInsane?â Johnny said, finally starting to get angry and his patience running thin. âInsane because I have a daughter? Insane because I want to be there for her and be a fucking dad like she deserves?â
âYou donât even know if sheâs yours,â she muttered.
At that point, Johnny felt like he was going to lose it. âLook at that little girl over there and tell me she doesnât look like me!â
Hyeriâs angry expression didnât fade as she turned toward Aya. She watched the girl for a moment as she got out of her chair, heading toward the restaurant. She made a face, Hyeri noticed, that was very similar to an expression Johnny made. Was this really his child? She had a million questions for what was happening here.
âMommy!â she called before being met with you at the door.Â
âAre you hungry now? We should eat. Uncle can make something yummy, okay?â
And, in that moment, Hyeri put everything together. Johnny hadnât wanted to expose either of you but he just got so angry that he couldnât help himself. Hyeri slid back in her chair. âUnbelievable,â she said loudly, before storming off into the evening.Â
On a normal day, Johnny wouldâve gone after her to try to talk things out. But Johnny was angry at how coldly she reacted. He was angry at the fact that she referred to Aya as âthat kid.â On a normal day, Johnny wouldâve tried to make things work and to make both parties happy. But today was not a normal day by any means.Â
Johnny didnât watch her walk away. If Hyeri was walking out of his life and Aya was walking into his life, that was an outcome that he was okay with.Â
*
When Johnny got back to the hotel that night, Hyeri was gone and so were her things. To be honest, Johnny was relieved. How she reacted to the news was upsetting. He didnât expect her to be happy, obviously, but he also didnât expect her to question your character. You were wrong, yes. Johnny knew that and, apparently, so did Hyeri. But he didnât appreciate the fact that Hyeri implied that Aya wasnât his. By implying that, she was implying that you were the type to sleep around. And, to be honest, even if you were that type, it was none of Hyeriâs business.
Johnny thought about all of these things as he walked to the beach location youâd asked him to meet you and Aya at. He found some beach toys for her; he figured he should at least have a gift ready for her upon their first meeting.Â
Last night, Johnny was texting you asking all about Aya. He found out that blue was her favorite color and that she liked listening to Twice. He found out that she preferred Japanese food over Korean food, that she spoke Japanese and Korean, and that she loved swimming. She also loved watching Disney movies and that she mustâve watched Encanto a million times.Â
There were so many things Johnny wanted to do with her. He wanted to take her to an amusement park and to a childrenâs museum. He wanted her to see Seoul, the place where he lived. He wanted her to see Chicago, the place that he was born and raised. He wanted her to meet her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a handful of cousins. He hadnât told his parents just yet but he knew that Aya would love them and vice versa. Before he told anyone else, he at least wanted to meet her.Â
He saw you before you saw him. He hated to say it but you looked like a typical mom on beach duty with the kids. You wore a white one-piece bathing suit, with a large beach hat. and Aya setting up a towel in the sand. You looked pretty today, regardless of what you were wearing. Johnny wasnât sure why but seeing you was throwing him off a bit. It wasnât that his feelings for you came rushing back but he never had closure with you and, seeing you here like this made him feel like you were picking up where you left off.
Johnny shook those thoughts out of his head. It was crazy to just expect things to go back to how they were, years ago, before all of this. But he couldnât help but imagine how things wouldâve been different and how the three of you couldâve made it work. Maybe you wouldnât have wanted to get back together butâŠmaybe you wouldâve come around. He had no idea where the three of you were going but he was glad that Aya had a mother as amazing as you were.Â
Aya looked up at him, sensing someone coming near. Johnny smiled brightly at her and waved. Then, you turned, wondering who Aya was looking at. Before Johnny could utter a proper greeting to either of you, Aya smiled and said, âHajimemashite!â Johnny wasnât sure what she said but it seemed positive. Whatever it was, it was cute.Â
You let out a laugh and said, âYour dad isnât from Japan, remember?â
Aya giggled as Johnny sat down next to you. âOops.âÂ
âHi, Aya,â he said. To be honest Johnny wanted to wrap his arms around her and lift her up until she complained that she wanted to get down. But to her, Johnny was a stranger and he knew that he would have to work up to that point. You told him that Aya was friendly, but a bit on the shy side.
She stood up and walked toward him with wide, curious eyes. She tilted her head to the side, almost analyzing him for a moment or two. Neither you or Johnny said anything as Aya stared at Johnny. Suddenly, she wrapped her arms around him and said, âHi, Daddy.â
And, at that, Johnny couldnât help but shed some tears. Aya noticed and pulled away with concern. She said, âAre you sad, Daddy?â
And Johnny looked up at his daughter and smiled. âNo, Iâm just happy. Iâm really happy I got to meet youâŠâÂ
This time, Johnny hugged her, holding her for a moment as she pat his back. She felt perfect in his arms. This was true happiness, Johnny thought, and his half empty, half full glass had finally been filled.

Hi hi ! I absolutely loved the first time dad! Jaehyun and Doyoung, If it's possible could you make one for Johnny? đđ±
tysm i hope you enjoy!!
johnny as a first time dad âĄ
johnny was born to be a dad. he is the happiest man alive when he finds out youâre pregnant, and heâs so eager to start designing the nursery and buying clothes and toys.
heâs the type of dad to buy parenting books, but end up not reading them and assuring himself that it will come naturally to him. if he needs anything, he knows itâs only a google search or a phone call to his mum away, so he doesnât stress too much.
when his baby girl is finally born, heâs absolutely obsessed with her. he tears up and smiles so fondly at her when he holds her for the first time, realising that he actually has a daughter.
parenting comes so naturally to johnny, and heâs super confident with her. however, sheâs so tiny in his arms that he does often worry heâll hurt her, so he makes sure to be extra gentle.
he talks to her even when she can only babble back at him, asking if sheâs comfortable in his arms or if she likes the new food he feeds her, and he pretends to understand her babbling. when heâs away he loves talking to her on the phone, and even though sheâs too little to understand him, she smiles so widely as she listens to her daddyâs voice.
johnny pretends he didnât hear it when your daughters first word is âmumâ, and once she finally says âdadâ he jokingly claims that as her first word to tease you.
johnny waits up for your daughter to fall asleep, even when heâs super tired. he watches her with fond eyes and strokes her hair gently, so in love with his little girl. once sheâs sleeping, he then climbs back into bed with you to beg for another.
your daughter is always giggling when sheâs with her daddy. he loves playing peek-a-boo and âgot your noseâ and âhere comes the aeroplaneâ. heâll do anything to see his little girl happy.
he loves early mornings with her, when he sits her in her high chair and feeds her her breakfast while he sits next to her, sipping his coffee and scrolling on his phone. he likes to let you sleep in most mornings so he can spend this quality time with her before the day starts.
johnnyâs lockscreen is always a picture of his daughter and you. he takes so many photos of you guys whenever you go anywhere together. heâs the type of dad to make funny faces behind the camera so your daughter will smile in the photos.
he celebrates all of his daughters accomplishments and wants to share them with everybody he passes by. heâs honestly the type of dad to throw a party when she takes her first steps heâs that proud.
when sheâs a few years old, he takes her on a family trip to his hometown where he takes her around, showing her all his favourite landmarks as she walks around holding his hand, her eyes wide in awe as she takes in the sights of chicago.
heâs quite protective of his daughter in public, always holding her in his arms and keeping a close eye on her.
johnnyâs the type of dad to ask her how her day at school was, and then pretend to snore when she starts talking. she giggles because heâs only kidding, and he really does love hearing her talk about her day.
heâs super involved with her school life. he loves to do the drop offs and pick ups and heâd be the type of dad that makes friends with all the other parents and the teachers.
johnny also tries to keep up with all her friendships and crushes, even though she wonât tell him because she knows heâll tease her about it forever.
he would be the dad to try to embarrass her at school, coming up to the window to wave goodbye to her in front of all of her classmates and leaving her cheesy notes in her lunch box.
heâs not super strict at all since he prefers to be a fun dad, but your daughter is still well disciplined. heâs the âdonât tell mumâ kind of dad, and lets her do things like have candy before dinner or take food to her room.
when she loses her first tooth, johnnyâs honestly the type of dad to forget to put the money under her pillow and the next morning heâs rushing into her room half asleep, telling her itâs âall just a dreamâ.
heâll blow on his daughters food to cool it down, and act like heâs about to feed her before feeding himself, telling her that he âjust had to make sure it wasnât poisonous!â
overall johnny would be such a fun dad who makes parenting look so easy !!

Jasper & Ava = 6 / Elijah = 3
âQuietly! Youâre gonna wake them up!â
âI want to wake them up.â
âNo! We need to wake Eli first.â
âHeâs deaf, Ava!â
Ava rolled her eyes dramatically, âyeah, not dead.â
You bit back a laugh, able to hear your twins overly loud whisper conversation. Burying your head in Johnnyâs chest, you pretended to be asleep.
âMummy! I heard that!â Jasper laughed, him and Ava running round to your bed.
âWhat are you two doing up?!â you exclaimed, feigning shock.
âItâs Christmas!â Ava yelled, both of them showing you their full stockings.
âHeâs been!â you gasped, âcome on then, letâs go wake Elijah.â
âWhat about Daddy?â Ava asked, peering at his sleeping body as she walked over to his side.
âDaddyâs already awake!â Johnny exclaimed, reaching out the duvet and picking Ava up, making her squeal with laughter.
âCome on you two!â you laughed, âletâs go and wake Elijah!â
Ava giggled, wriggling out of her dadâs strong grip and joining Jasper as they ran to Elijahâs room, you waiting in the doorframe, watching Johnny roll out of bed dramatically.
âI see where they get it from,â you tutted sarcastically, going to leave before a strong hand caught your wrist.
Giggling, you were pulled back into the doorway, Johnny now standing opposite you.
âWhat?â you smiled.
Johnny placed two fingers under your chin before raising it up, so you could see the plant hanging from the doorway.
âIs that mistletoe?â you laughed, âJohn, youâre such an idiot.â
âSmart, no?â he smiled, âcome on, kiss me.â
You fake-grimaced as Johnny laughed, wrapping his arms around you as your lips met in a kiss.
âMum, Dad! Stop! Just hurry up!â Jasper whined.
You laughed, resting your head on Johnnyâs chest as he smiled, kissing your head.
~ johnny had been awoken about three hours prior, thanks to your baby girl. the sun was barely awake and she quietly came to your room sniffling and telling her daddy about the nightmare she just had.
âahh, why is my princess crying hmm?â he hushes her by leaning her to sleep on his chest. âdaddy, i had a nightmare and it wasnât fun. i- i- you and mommy werenât here and-â tears cascaded down her plush face as she sunk to cry out into his neck. âbaby look; mommy and i are still here. nothingâs gonna keep us away from you, ever,â he hushes her once more and you finally wake up and turn around to see your baby crying in the palms of johnnyâs hands. before you were too quick to react, he says that everything is under control and that you should rest. you interjected but johnny hushes you as well and tells you to sleep. besides, johnny wants some alone time with his baby. both of his babies.
you had slept for another three hours and you recalled the last moments scenario. your baby girl crying into a tired johnnyâs neck. but when you stretched your limbs, no one was attacking you. âthey must be up already.â
when you walked down the hall, the loud blaring of the tv playing some nursery rhymes filled your ears. nari is sitting down eating some cereal while her tearful eyes focused on the tv.
âwhereâs daddy, my love?â you asked and sat next to her. âheâs in the shower mommy,â she looked up at you as her lip quivered, âi wanted to shower with daddy but he said no,â she sobbed. her crying made you coo in adorable-ness as you picked her up to sit her in your lap. âawww babyyyy. how about this; you shower with mommy in a little bit?â her tears came to a halt as she sniffled and smiled while wiping her tears. truly, the cutest thing youâve seen all day. the two of you stayed cozied on the couch for another couple of minutes before johnny comes out of the bathroom.
âbaby!â he shouted from down the hall and both you and nari yelled back, âyes (daddy)?â he walked toward the living room and chuckled at the sight of the two of you having a stare off. âbaby?â you both turn your attention back to johnny before staring at each other again.
nari once again had tears fill her already red eyes before she shouts, âiâm daddyâs baby, mommy. youâre not his baby!â your mouth opens aghast before slightly teasing her, âno iâm daddyâs baby. iâve been with him way longer than you have angel.â
âno! thatâs not fair,â she whined more. johnny laughed unbelievably and told you to stop playing with her before taking nari in his arms as she calmed down.
âcalm down, tiger. youâre both my babies,â he kissed her forehead and wrapped an arm around you. âyou can only have one baby, daddy,â she looked up at him. âokay, okay. youâre my baby and mommy is my love. apologize to your mom now, beautiful.â wiping her tears she grins sweetly at her father before turning to you. âmommy, youâre my love too!â
