Robot:“Do you love me?”
Me: “Do I have a choice?”
Robot: “Resistance is futile.”
friday night i needed to walk off the weight of the horrible week i had from my shoulders and i started walking senseless with the goal of not stopping until i had found some peace of mind. i didn't find that, needless to say. but what i did find were L. and S., which talked me into going to dance the night off and i loved every bit of it. even though it didn't make sense.
after the club, after we drifted apart, i started running towards home. my legs were already tired and my back was hurting with all that dancing, but it felt good and it felt right. i felt like it was going to be okay. i loved the morning breeze on my bare legs. i loved the sound of the blood flowing through my ears. i loved not caring at all for a brief moment. i loved how sweaty i was when i got home, glitter all over my face and smeared mascara down to my cheeks. i loved the silence, and i felt like i was part of it. part of something. and i felt like i was going to be alright after all. like not everything has been wasted. like i wasn't trash or to be discarded.
it was brief, but i'm holding it close to my heart. i have it stamped in my brain. i am going to anchor to this. bad days won't wash away the fact that i love being alive
