Alien I?
Yep... I saw that in a theatre when it was released. (Mr KH was big fan of Gigerâs art.)
True story: I still feel sick to my stomach if someone says âfacehuggerâ.
Happy Birthday? :D
Eeeep! Thank you, m'dear! It was actually yesterday (June 14th) but at my age Iâm probably entitled to a Birthday Week celebration.... so grab a slice of virtual cake and join the party!
Top 5 lines by Alistair Theirin.
Oh gosh⌠itâs been a really long time since I played DA so Iâm probably forgetting something, but a few are
She seems more⌠âOoh, pretty colors!â than âMuahaha! I am Princess Stabbity! Stab, kill, kill!â
Here I was worried about creating another bastard heir and I didnât even consider that it might also be some dragon⌠god⌠whatever!
Ahhh, cheap trinkets handed to me nonchalantly by a beautiful woman. How my heart soars. Next thing youâll be throwing gift boots at my head, right?
I thought maybe I could say something. Tell you what a rare and wonderful thing you are to find amidst all this⌠darkness.
and of course the one that sucked me in in the first place:
You know, one good thing about the Blight is how it brings people together.
Thank you for the Ask, that was fun! :D
5 - 25 - 38 for the game ask thing
Thank you for the Ask! :D (And I apologize for the delay in responding. :-()
5. Game with the best soundtrack?
I really love the music for Morrowind (and literally get choked up when I hear the main theme. And thought the third Dragon Age had a really good soundtrack.
25. Proudest accomplishment in gaming?
Finally completing a Moira Cousland playthrough of DAO and crossing the legit Queen of Ferelden thing off of the to-do list... I had an evil Cousland from years ago who talked poor softie Alistair into a loveless, sex-free political marriage, but I always wanted to do it with a romance-and-hardened Alistair, too. (I first started a playthrough with Princess Uglyface in September 2011, which was ruined by a mod that broke my game. I finally managed a complete run of the base game with Moira from September 2016 through January of 2017, and finished the last DLC in mid-February. That also counts as a speed run for me. *chortle*)
38. Have you tried a game, hated it, then tried again, and loved it?
ESO. I played in the closed beta and loathed it. Bought it on a whim, in December 2017, and found itâs actually fun to play, even though Iâm really really bad at it.

7, 13, 19 for the music thingie!
Oooh, thank you for the Ask! :D
7. a song your friend introduced you to that you ended up lovingÂ
Back at the turn of the century(!), I used to do a lot of 'mix exchangesâ with folks from a power pop listserv I was on⌠yep, people actually used to record to mixes to physical media and send them through the mail to one another! One of the mixes I received from a frequent trading partner included the song âLast Good Day of the Yearâ by Cousteau, which became and will forever be, one of my favourite songs. (Both their eponymous debut album and the followup, Sirena, are absolutely superb.)
13. a reboot of a song/songs you already loved (remix, mashup, acoustic, etc.)Â
The rawk-and-roll version of Dramaramaâs âWork for Foodâ is great, but I love the acoustic version (which I sadly cannae find anywhere on the interwebs) even more.
19. a song from an artist whose old music you enjoy more than their new music
David Sylvianâs first two solo albums are the best. (Sez me.)
Ultravox! first album for the album thing.
âThe Wi-i-i-ild, The Beautiful and the Da-a-a-mnedâ
â¤ď¸!
Random Hold was a late 70s/early 80s band⌠kind of hard to slot them into a genre, though âprogressive rockâ, âart rockâ, and âpost-punkâ all work pretty well as descriptors. They were fronted by David Rhodes, on guitar and vocals; Rhodes, of course, is best known as a longtime Peter Gabriel sideman.
The band released two fecking brilliant albums (The View From Here and Etceteraville) and a couple of EPs during Rhodesâ tenure, and one lackadaisical effort after his departure. (An omnibus double album called Avalanche compiles the lot of the Rhodes-era buzzy angry dystopian noise into one glorious package.)
RH opening for PG on the PG3 tour (I wasnât at this particular show, but I did see the date at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJâŚ):
