On the way & at home ❤️💛
Let's talk about our favorite cartoon pig. Waddles. We all love him! He wears sweaters, he follows Mabel around, he eats stuff/chews on clothes, rolls around, he's completely ok with being held and or handled, he takes naps with people, he's generally clean at all times, and is basically just adorable. In the episode "Time Traveler's Pig" Mabel won him by guessing that "old 15 poundy" was 15lbs. She then told Dipper that she named him Waddles because "he WADDLES!". I'm not going to spoil to much about this episode (because people are dumb and read this stuff before they watch the show-.-) but The twins keep going back in time living the day over and over because Mabel wants to relive winning Waddles and Dipper wants to get what he wants. They find out that in order for Dipper to get what he wants Mabel can't win Waddles and Pacifica will instead. In the end Dipper is a good sibling and let's Mabel win Waddles. Ok so great slabbydabbie what is the point of this? So, This is the part I want to point out. Either Pacifica or Mabel HAD to win Waddles. Why would that happen? Why wouldn't she just get a different pig or the chicken she wins when Mabel does win Waddles. Later on in the last Episode of Season 1, "Gideon Rises", Gideon gets ahold of Waddles which is "the last straw" for the Pines family. Going back to the magic carpet episode in Season 1 episode 16 "Carpet Diem" Soos switches bodies with Waddles. The part that bothers me a lot is that Waddles was the one that switched them. This happened when Soos was talking to Waddles about how he wonders what it's like to be a pig. Many of the characters including Mabel, Dipper and even Stan have also talked to Waddles. About their troubles, desires, and general questions about life or advice. What I'm getting at here is that there's a LOT of important parts of plot that lead back to Waddles. There's more than just these two though. In the episode "Land Before Swine"(Season 1, Episode 18) we see a basic character development episode for all of our main characters except Wendy, but that's ok because Old man McGucket was there! ... Until you know he got eaten...then spooned his way out of a dinosaur I guess? Um anyway... In this episode we have Stan showing that he cares about Waddles a little bit, if only a little and mostly for Mabel's sake. The last episode I want to mention is one of the more recent or episodes. "Little Gift Shop of Horrors", aka Season 2 Episode 6. This is essentially one of the shorts episodes made up of several flashbacks with corny joke names. These stories in this episode were told by Stan as "Tales Designed to Sell My Merchandise!" Dun dun dun! I want to point out "Abaconing". And I don't want to write a synopsis and spoil it so if you want to hear about it then here, http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/Little_Gift_Shop_of_Horrors Otherwise keep reading here. So without spoiling to much Waddles accidently eats some smart magical mushroom paste thingy and it makes him able to learn really fast. He uses this to make all sorts of things with Dipper and always says "we made" when referring to the creations but Dipper always says "he" or "you made". Which leaves me a bit suspicions about it... Anyway in the end he decides he likes being a normal pig that Mable loves. He tells Dipper something interesting though before he becomes normal again. He tells Dipper that science is important and the world has vast parts of imagination to discover but not to loose what really important. So waddles? Any ideas on his importance? Will he be a bigger aspect later on? Why does Stan have mixed emotions on him? Theories please!
