Shit, shit, shit, shit! Rae thought as she ran up on the platform of the train station. She was trying to catch the El to she could get to a meeting with her Professor. A meeting she was already late for. With now no mode of transportation, a look of pity for herself flashed across her face as she looked at the time on her watch. 9 PM, Rae thought she might as well just go home, call or email her Professor she was sorry, or something like that. But something caught her eye. A kind of struggle just beneath the station, a boy around her age being mugged. "Shit," Rae said out loud this time as she pushed her way off the platform and down to where she saw the incident.
A cringe fell across her features as the guy doing the mugging ran off with some items from the dark haired boy. Rae wasn't sure what to do, something had happened to a stranger that she hoped would never happen to her. Rae quietly walked up to him, frozen for a moment she didn't know why. Was it she didn't know what to say? What do you when someone's just been mugged. "Oh god," her thick London accent shooting through her words. "I'm really sorry that happened. I tried to get down here to help but I couldn't--" Rae was probably going to say something stupid anyway. "Uh, you okay?"
