Sugar playfully rolled her eyes when Ryder took Eliza back from his father. “He’s still scared after all this time,” She said to Ryder’s mom as she looked to the door. “Hi mom,” She said walking to their door to greet her mother. She gave her a hug, “Come on in,” Sugar said walking back to the kitchen.

Ryder gave almost a forced chuckle. “It is not my fault your dad is still kinda super duper terrifying, even if we’re gonna be together for forever, and have our little princess.”

Sugar smiled. “She loved it,” She said pouring water for both of their guests and for herself. “We saw Cinderella and Sofia,” She said as Eliza started to babble, as though she was telling her grandparents about her first trip to Disney World. “I think she wanted to tell you more though,” Sugar said pointing to Eliza who was still in Ryder’s arms.

Ryder happily held his daughter close to his chest. His little girl almost seemed like she was explaining. His father spoke, “Well I’m glad you had fun sweetheart., he said and took his granddaughter from his son. Ryder didn’t object till he heard the knock that most likely meant Sugar’s dad was here, so he interjected, “Sorry dad, I need to take her back, so I don’t die.”

Sugar smiled as Ryder scooped up their daughter, evoking a laugh from her. “She is doing great,” She said tickling Eliza to get her to giggle a bit more. “Come on in,” Sugar said stepping away from the door. She squeezed Ryder’s bicep as she walked by him into their kitchen. “What can we get you to drink?” She asked getting cups out of the cabinet.

Ryder smiled as his parents followed his wife into their apartment. It made him feel a bit better that his parents had been the first to arrive. At least now he’d be completely calm when Sugar’s family arrived. His mother saw the pictures they had hanging, “Aw I didn’t know you two took Eliza to Disney, how precious.” Ryder nodded with a smile. “We took our little princess to meet princesses.”

Sugar laughed, “You could use the baby shield if anything goes wrong,” She said holding out a piece of cheese for Eliza to take. There was a knock on the door before she could say anything else. Sugar opened the door with Eliza at her heels and welcomed Ryder’s parents into their apartment. She was glad they were the first to arrive that evening.

Ryder smiled and scooped his daughter up in his arms. “GOod idea.” He smiled at the little girl he held close. “Daddy’s little human shield.” He smiled as soon as he saw that his parents had arrived. “Hey mom. Hey dad..” Mrs. Lynn perked up when she saw his daughter, “Hey love birds, and how’s my favorite granddaughter?”

Sugar shook her head. “I think everything is almost done.” She said putting Eliza down. “Someone might need a diaper change before our guests arrive, though,” She said wrinkling her nose and discreetly pointing to their daughter. Sugar quickly gave Ryder a kiss on the cheek before doing anything else. “Nervous?” She asked biting her lower lip. She was. 

Ryder smiled and picked their daughter up,so he could hold her against his hip.He could quickly smell what she was talking about. “Don’t worry. I’ll go change her.” He hurried off to go change her. As soon as he was back, Ryder let out a slight chuckle. “I’m nervous about your dad, because no matter how long we’re together, your dad scares me..”

Ryder was finishing up something he had to read before everyone arrived. The day had finally come that they were going to tell their parents that they were married, and that they were gonna have another baby. As soon as he had his book put back in his bag, he headed to the kitchen with a smile. "How can I help sweetheart?" He wanted to help anyway he could. When Sugar was pregnant with Eliza, he couldn't help because he was in highschool hundreds of miles away. Now he wanted to be the best husband he could, and take stress off his wife.
