"Talk to me," Jan starts, brushing away any uneasiness that could've kept him from saying a word. Sitting there, in front of him, was a young girl he did not know at all... Her arrival here was odd, to put it mildly. He had no real explanation as to how or why, but she was here. Against radiation, sun, and rain.
But they've been at a standstill, quiet for what feels like a whole hour.
"I can't help you if you don't talk to me." He finishes the sentence, letting out a light sigh before he approaches just a tiny bit, a short step. When in doubt, return to basics. "Do you know who you are? Where you are?"
Ariadne knows she did something bad. That's how her young mind rationalises it — she doesn't stop and think how her mother and father will be desperately searching for her through that life-altering feeling of worrying so much it causes a sickness to take hold, or how her absence will make her brother withdraw into himself because he's scared and alone.
All she thinks is that she did something she wasn't supposed to do and now she's in big trouble.
Blue eyes blink up at the strange man. He hasn't been unkind to her, far from it, but they both seem to understand that something very big has happened here. To Ariadne, she thinks if he speaks up, she will be in trouble sooner. To Jan, she simply should not exist. She's scared of consequences and he's grappling with perhaps his own sanity.
Lips pursed, Ariadne gives a shake of her head, her silvery hair catching in the light. Another oddity. She's human-shaped but she's not quite passing. There's something very strange about her. The very air around her seems to shift when he takes a measured steps. Like there are small vibrations.
Finally, there comes a voice. Only, her mouth doesn't open. It's a direct brush to Jan's mind. <"I'm Ariadne. I don't know where we are. It's stupid.">
