This is a super interesting line of thought. I wonder if in this hypothetical situation, Cairngorm would still be Phos's partner or would that role be delegated to Cinnabar? I'm curious what kind of interactions would come from that since Cinnabar has wanted to be in the position of being Phos's partner which Gorm has pretty much trashed currently... And I am really curious what Cinnabar's reaction would be to the low hardness gems not coming back, as well as to Phos's reaction to that. They have never really talked about what happened with Antarc that winter since Phos avoided the subject entirely. I think if Cinnabar had gone to the moon they would see that they were wrong about what they said about Phos not understanding loneliness. That alone could be a breakthrough for them. SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT I just had a lot of feelings/thoughts lol
never apologize for walls of text! theyâre awesome and i love them, also iâm verbose
this is super interesting, I think it all depends on when and under which circumstances, specifically, Cinnabar accepts to go to the moon. Like you point out, theyâve wanted to be Phosâ partner for a long time but neither of them ever brought that up.
Assuming Cinnabar accepts to follow Phos when Phos asks them (chap 61? i dont remember), it would mean that Phos and Cairn still ended up being partners. Phos never put being Cinnabarâs partner and asking Cinnabar to go to the moon on the same plate; these two things are not mutually exclusive for them.Â
Now, this could just be my shippy-self talking, but if Shinsha were to go to the moon I can only see a weird triangle thing taking shape. Because now Phos would have two partners, at least until Cairn decides to abandon them. Which would finally help Shinsha realize just how lonely Phos really is, as you say. Yet would they âtake pityâ of Phosâ loneliness at this point? Assuming that any attempt to talk with the Earth gems fails, just like in canon, would Shinsha act like the other moon gems or would they stand by Phosâ side?
Because I see Cinnabar as a very committed kind of person. It takes an incredible long time for them to form an opinion about something or to take sides, but once they do they do it to the fullest because it took them such a long time to decide. So maybe, if they ended up siding with Phos, they would not ignore them like the other moon gems are doing?
