Since his discussion with Wanda, Johnny found himself sort of curious as to how other people felt regarding Doom’s list. Some people’s opinions were well-known -- Sue’s name was on that list right alongside his own, and MJ and Peter had both signed their names as well -- but others were a mystery. Cindy fell into the latter category, and Johnny couldn’t help but wonder what her thoughts on the whole thing might be. 

Unfortunately, there wasn’t really a ‘best time’ to bring up a discussion like that. Even if there was, Johnny had never been good at knowing when the time was right for sensitive topics. Lounging on the couch in Cindy’s apartment, flipping through the channels on her television, he decided abruptly that there was no time like the present. “What do you make of this list stuff?” He called back towards to hall she’d disappeared into. “You think it’s a good idea?”

There were many things Nadia had missed out on during her time with the Red Room, many things she’d never gotten the chance to try. She knew how to break a man’s neck with her thighs, knew how to construct a device that would stop a person’s heart without leaving a trace, but she didn’t know how to ride a bike or ice skate. She was determined to figure it all out, determined to pick up on everything she’d missed out on. Unfortunately, she had a hard time believing that there would be ‘plenty of time to see what she’d missed’ as some seemed intent on telling her. No, Nadia wasn’t going to waste time. She was going to do as much as she could as quickly as she could, and she was going to enjoy herself doing it.

Luckily, she had someone willing to do it all with her. Cindy’s story was a little different than Nadia’s, but the end result was the same. Spending your formative years in a bunker was a great foundation for friendships, as far as Nadia was concerned! (Most things were great foundations for friendships; you just had to be willing to do the work.) Today, their friendship brought them to an ice cream shop that served something called ‘unicorn’ ice cream. Standing outside the shop’s doors, Nadia practically buzzed with excitement. “I don’t know what unicorn ice cream is,” she told Cindy seriously, “but I know I love it. I think it might be my favorite thing, Cindy. I can’t wait to try it.”
