William was no stranger to the woods. He found himself traversing them when he would hide the bodies of his hunts' prey. But this time, his Oxfords met a dirt footpath—a clearly marked trail as opposed to the deep woods where he would dig up pits to drop the monsters down. Once the two were roofed by canopy above, Orchid let go of the older man's hand, bending down to inspect a log covered in moss. "What is it?" William asked, peeking over his shoulder. "Moss," Orchid answered simply. "Isn't it cool?" An amused chuckle came from William's lips, fascinated by the boy's ability to find beauty in such mundane things. That was one of the things he loved most about him.

The two continued own the trail, stopping to listen to the bird songs surrounding them, the leaves swaying in the gentle breeze, and the occasional buzz of an insect passing a little too close by. It was peaceful, all things considered.

Maybe a bit too peaceful.

William stepped in front of Orchid and led hyr by the hand off-trail into the foliage. "Erm," mumbled Orchid. "I don't think we're supposed to—" "Relax. We're not going very far," William assured, assisting Orchid to keep xer balance, stepping over the tall plants in the way. As William gazed at Orchid—at himself—a familiar hunger arose in his chest. Maybe it was the slow monotony of walking with no destination, or maybe it was the twinkle in his doppelgänger's eyes that sparked an intimate curiosity in him.

"Orchid," William began to speak again, his voiced lowered and deepened. His eyes all darted around his face as he tried, futiley, to search his head for the words to speak. Orchid titled xer head to signal confusion in the silence, but the movement only worsened William's issue. To Will, he looked like a small puppy (despite them both towering at 6'5'') following him with little defiance. Orchid may have been the one to take them here, but Will was keen on taking him. "I'm going to need you to stay quiet for me, love."

"Why?" Orchid asked, his voice squeaking just a bit. Will glanced behind them to assure no passersby was present before closing the distance between him and Orchid.

"I'm afraid I am far too bored right now, and..." He trailed off, bringing his hands to the other man's belt. "May I?"

"Out- Out here?"

"That is why I said to keep quiet. Is it a yes or a no?"

Orchid glanced down at himself, Will's hands on hyr. "Yes," xe breathed out, a prompt click following right after. Will immediately clocked Orchid's dramatic shift in demeanor: he was now frozen in place, hyr breathing irregular, and a slight sway or shake across his body.

"Are you sure?" Will asked, sensing discomfort in all these little tells. And then, Orchid's eyes swelled with tears and Will removed his hands swiftly to hold his companion's cheek gently instead. "Dear, are you quite alright?"

"No," answered Orchid on the brink of a sob. "I'm sorry."

"Do not apologize."

"I'm boring you."

It was in that moment William realized what was the matter. Orchid had wished to share this special place with him, and yet, he ungratefully whisked him off the trail for a quick snog. "No, no, no, I-" Once again, Will could not find the words. "I did not mean to-" He sighed. "I am sorry. Why don't you come show me some plants you like, yes?"

The fire in Orchid's eyes returned, and so too did his smile. Shy quickly fixed her belt before striding in wide steps back to the path, spotting something among the greens and browns. "There," xe pointed towards a clump of brightly colored orange flowers. "Butterfly milkweed! Isn't it gorgeous?
