Since I have been in London we have been out checking out different neighborhoods, and I have also been writing my dissertation in London focusing on cyclists perceptions of cycling in London.
We went to look at Tower Hamlets to have a look around and and when we got to Bow roundabout was that its been designed purposefully to be a deathtrap. No cyclist would honestly think this is a good way to provide infrastructure. Coming from Denmark I was chocked that this was recently built? Go to Amsterdam or Copenhagen, and you will see why women, children and the elderly make up the majority of cyclists - the rocket science is to make people feel safe, pleasant and comfortable. I personally don't think that London has gotten it right yet.
