Maybe not so much, but. Caesar couldn't deny that at least, today, things were a little... better. As expected, the deceased he had worried for returned several days later, seemingly as good as new. Physical and emotional scars came together in these people to form a snapshot of their former visage. Parts of them were broken beyond repair - that is simply what death did - and would remain as a badge of courage. They had died, but they stood on their feet once more and moved forward. And what about those who had to bear witness to it?
He chose not to focus on that today. These questions would receive answers at some point - he was slowly learning that the closure he so desired did not exist in this place - but for now, it was not about any of that. Instead it would be about a young lady in blue that he was happy to see back. His... well. The running gag, he was soon told of, was that he was Dad and she was his daughter. Mom, of course, was another occupant of Room 200: one Reiji Sakamaki, of course. Ridiculous, it was.
Caesar would scoff at the news and smile in private. Che schifo.
Though treating Ene in a daughterly fashion wasn't quite far from the mark. He certainly couldn't help but regard her that way - she reminded him plenty of his younger siblings, even if her age deceived her mentality most of the time. A spunky girl he wanted to protect more than anything while in this place. He had failed once, foolish and naive; he would not allow that to happen again. But for once, today was not a threat.
The only threat that came to mind was how wide her smile could be at the surprise.
It wasn't much, honestly - you couldn't do a whole lot here that was happy or else the mastermind would take notice. He knew deep down it wouldn't matter so much to her how large it could be, and yet he wished he could pull out all the stops for her, just as he would any of his siblings. Or, well. Kids. Not that he has them, but he might as well at this point. With a small bundle behind his back, he went about the routine of opening the door to his room and stepping inside--
Only to see the girl of the hour occupying his bed with a waiting smile. Of course.
He couldn't help it - he, too, grinned. It was simply infectious, that smile of hers.Ā "Bene, bene..."
"You do realize it's hard for me to surprise you if you're always sneaking up on me," From behind he presented a modest bouquet of flowers, all in a variety of blue shades, "Eh, bambina?"
