8. what are three things you're looking forward to next year?

honestly I sort of make writing goals month-to-month so I don't know!

probably finishing draft 1 of Court of Ruination. It ended up a lot more multi layered and complicated of a story than I was anticipating! I thought I could get it done in 3-4 months, over the summer. I'm now 84k into the book, 76k into the sequel, and 33k into the prequel, and not even close to done with any of them haha

I'm also looking forward to revisiting an old project! I haven't decided yet which one that will be, either nDOT or Mixtape Ghost most likely.

and lastly looking forward to finishing one of the RCU stories. I cannot even count how many words I have in that world, but since I write so piecemeal and out of order I actually don't have a whole story written all the way through yet aha... the closest are the Cosmic Horror Sky Eyeball™ story and the time loop story! (ngl I should have finished those for this december... they take place this time of year sooo)

i think my favorite overall will be when Blake gets her son back. but the one scene I just finished writing Bożechna was just given this salve to treat chronic pain by the guy who she's been in love with since they were kids

His thumb brushed across the back of her hand. “The cooling rags help.”

“It was you that helped.”

“Perhaps I can help further,” he said. “Come, sit on the couch with me.”

He does NOT have sticker anxiety about where to place them, he will slap them on any old surface and also on any exposed skin of his friends + loved ones.

The Clone Story - sci-fi psychological horror. a college student does a wildly unethical cloning experiment on himself, in an abandoned building's basement on campus. told from the POV of one of the clones (who has no name, he's just Clone B)

Escape Train - post-apocalyptic 1980s retrofuturism. the best way I can explain the plot is: it's among us but the impostors don't know the other one is also an impostor and keep sabotaging each other. takes place in a police state on a train (feat. neon 80s bowling alley carpet)

this ask is mad old so I actually don't know what my third main WIP would be that u were referring to? but for the most part, it's these two and then the third 'main project' im working on changes. rn it would be:

the Rando Cinematic Universe™ - a fantasy universe that slowly mutates into an urban fantasy universe, and the fantasy creatures are maddddd as hell that their world has changed. told through an anthology of short stories abt all different characters :)

I did outline LiaHT recently, and it made me very excited to write it.

10000% true!! but AUs within the canon world mostly. like what if XYZ plot or backstory event went differently, how would the character turn out differently?

my favorite one of these by farrrr is imagining the AU of what would happen if Hays and Kane found out they were both secretly subversives in the first escape train, before [INSERT PLOT DISASTER HERE]. like what if they talked. or what if Kane confessed to Lola like he was planning to (but lost the nerve). or how would it go if one or the other actually found each other out like *doing* sabotage or illegal shit. oughhh its so good 5 stars
