It was probably a mistake to come here. Noel digs the toe of his boot into the dirt, just staring at the infamous Owl House from the trees. He’s got a bag of his belongings, a violin case, and Rascal on his shoulder; as well as a variety of cuts and bruises gained from being ambushed by guards multiple times in his journey here.
He probably could have gone to Edric’s house…but he doesn’t want to put a target on his boyfriend’s back, or the rest of his family. Raine said that he could trust the Owl Lady…whether he’ll be allowed in is another story.
A deep breath is taken, and he starts to approach the house—thinking of how to deal with the annoying house demon that’s taken out squads of coven guards before…when it opens, and Noel comes face to face with Edalyn Clawthorne.
The teenager freezes, eyes wide and opening his mouth only when Rascal nuzzles him. “…H-hi. Raine…Raine s-said…” It hurts to know that they’ve been captured. “S-said…you were safe…”
Eda was sitting on the couch reading a few books when she heard a knock at the door. She wasn’t expecting anyone to come and from what she recalled everyone was accounted for. The Owl Lady slowly put her book down and walked to the door, as soon as she opened it Eda saw a Teen standing outside.
As he began to spoke she let out a sigh. Eda was heart broken that Raine was captured by the emperor’s coven. Hopefully, they see each other again one day. Once he was done talking Eda looked around diligently before closing the door.
The old her would of slammed the door on the poor kid’s face but, she was a changed women… for the most part. “Please, come in!” The women told him as she stepped out of the way.
“Th-thanks.” Noel replies meekly, shoulders having been hunched in anticipation of having the door slammed in his face. He wouldn’t have blamed her at all, not after everything that’s happened. The teenager slowly shuffles into the house and looks around, his attention instantly caught by the owl fresco painted on the ceiling.
It looks vaguely familiar, but he can’t quite put his finger on where he’s seen it before.
A shake of his head and he forces himself to pay attention to the situation at hand. Just because the Owl Lady let him in now doesn’t mean she won’t kick him out later; whether in the next few minutes or...whenever. It’s going to happen, Noel just needs to prepare himself for that reality.
