In response to the rampant contamination of waterways that brought numerous water bodies to the brink of death, Congress confronted the need to protect our streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands. Today, because of the #CleanWaterAct, our waters are substantially better off because of the Act's numerous pollution prevention, control, and cleanup requirements.
