The peony bud is one of my favorite things to watch evolve in springtime. It is a well sought after bloom we know and love. The simple care of not planting too deeply, cleaning up the previous years foliage, and good air circulation, makes the peony a plant to have in the perennial border. There is a catch. You have to make time to embrace the bloom. On average. The blooms will onlyvlast a few days. I noticed over the past few years that a part shade area allows these beauties to have a longer bloom time in the garden. Do you have a favorite plant in the garden that makes you pause and appreciate the bloom time ? I have enough peonies to view in the garden, cut for the vase, and dream about over the winter. Today, I am waiting, anticipating the bodacious blooms of my favorite flower. #peonybliss #springinspiration #seasonalbliss #cutflower #allaboutthegarden #allaboutthatgardenfeeling #allthingsbeautiful (at Prince George's County, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdFEl8oulss/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
