I want Kumagawa to learn that the moment he decided to cross me was the moment he completely sealed his fate. There’s no coming back from this, not by a long shot. As far as any of us are concerned this poor little bastard has basically ended his future. Any amount of joy, any sort of good feeling he may experience in the coming days, weeks, months and years will ultimately be thrown out the window the moment he remembers that I’m out there. I will ALWAYS be out there, ready to remind him of just how badly he fucked up.

byakuran is a changed god, that much can’t be denied! he can no longer take over the world(s) with violence and fear, no longer destroy absolutely anyone who dares to step a toe out of line– his plans have had to take on a distinctly non-dictator-ish tone to avoid making yuni sad. and that’s, frankly, discouraging. it’s not something byakuran regrets, but it makes everything so much harder, throwing away everything he knows works in favor of something he has plenty of evidence doesn’t work.

his discouragement can’t stand up to much scrutiny, though. call him an optimist! but the moment that really set him straight, really made him realize he not only didn’t have to give up but couldn’t, was when he successfully gathered the funeral wreaths again.

there’s a lot to be said for being worshiped. but more importantly, they believed in him. when they thought he was going to do the same he had already lost with, they believed in him. when they found out he was shifting to a less tried and true method, a slower, more pacifistic method… they still believed in him. they weren’t following his ideas, they were following him. they loved him. they would go anywhere, do anything, for him. and he had every proof that he had earned it.
