Testors and Tamiya are my go to paints, but they only come in flat or gloss which is pretty limiting. All my models are gloss since I can’t stand the way flat feels, but I wanted to do something different. Unfortunately it did not go according to plan, several random pieces alligatored when I clear coated for reasons I could not recreate. It actually left some damage to the plastic too, after I cleaned off the worst pieces I found the indents of the crackling was left in the plastic. 

I’ve used the matte clear coat for cosplay props and sculptures before with no issue, but something went wrong and I still have no idea what or why. I was way more cautious on the rest of the pieces, which overall came out fine if a bit unevenly or too lightly coated. It also seems to scratch off easier than just Testors paint, I noticed some marks where parts have.  I don’t think I’ll be spray top coating any more models, this was my first and last one lol. 

Other than that, several small pieces were lost, several pieces like the tail and missile covers broke and had to be glued, joints are loose and a rubber bit with the back mounted guns cracked, and lastly something with her midsection is wrong. I couldn't figure out what exactly when I took it apart, but its incredibly floppy and I can see inner pieces separating when moving it upward.
