I made my favorite Pokémon a custom mega evolution:
(Don't ask why the 2nd image is blue lmao)
Here's the text in case you find my ass handwriting illegible:
MEGA QUAGSIRE:
Water/Ground Type.
Hp: 95. (+0)
Atk: 115. (+30)
Def: 105. (+20)
Sp. Def: 110. (+45)
Sp. Atk: 60. (-5)
Spd: 45. (+10)
---
Non-Custom ability concepts:
- Drizzle
- Simple
- Water Compaction
- Water Bubble (ive decided against this one, could be awesome but I don't wanna yoink Araquanid's signature ability, but i wrote it on the paper so :/ )
---
Custom ability concepts:
-Sedimentation-
"Whenever the Pokémon takes direct damage, it gets a boost to its physical and special defense. (+1 Def, +1 Sp. Def)"
This is the less broken ability I thought of, I did think of a "slightly" more broken alternative:
-Swamp Dweller-
"Whenever the Pokémon takes a hit from a water or ground type move, it will be healed 1/16th of its max HP and will set up a layer of Spikes on the opposite side of the field."
---
This is my Mega Quagsire concept! I've always loved this goofy guy. Sadly they've never been too good competitive wise, so this is me trying to fix that! My goal with this mega was to make them significantly bulkier and hit harder. They seem like they'd be a very good Trick Room Pokémon because of they're low speed and high bulk. I think Simple actually may be one of the best Non-Custom abilities for them. Being able to use one Curse to get to +2 Attack and Defense and -2 Speed would be very scary in Trick Room and seeing as this thing gets Recover it just wouldn't die. They keep the Water / Ground typing because I didn't see any need to change it. It's custom ability, Sedimentation, I think turned out really cool. It fits the theme and actually seems pretty useful, especially because I'm like 50% sure this thing gets Body Press. Anyways that's my concept for a Mega Quagsire. I'm probably gonna do a Mega Clodsire next because It's another one of my favorites. (Wonder why lol)
