TikTok users are pmo because the people putting down artists aren't even artists themselves and are legitimately harassing younger/beginner artists. What did they expect? The beginner/minor to automatically pick up a pencil and draw with perfection??? I hate the mentality most people have because everybody is not a robot and doesn't have to cater to your expectations. We are all human, we make mistakes. Everyone is not perfect. Commenting hateful things doesn't make you a better human being, it makes you look like a terrible, heartless person. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it and move on. Being hateful and spiteful towards an artist that can improve their skill later on down the road doesn't make them better, it makes them want to give up, turn to AI in order to make up for the creativity they have to just receive more hate.

It should be emphasized that art doesn't have rules. And that using the excuse "just because it's unique doesn't make it good" proves the point on how ignorant and hateful you are. If it doesn't cater to your tastes, just scroll away or label the post under not interested. Why put in the effort to hate on something when you can just scroll away? Do the majority of people hate themselves that much to put down another person's skill? It should be noted that commenting does add reach, and boy, I'm glad that it did it reach me. With other problematic artists in the world, people would rather go after those with lesser skill and that is highly disappointing. Going after people with lesser skill and putting them under the spotlight than the actual problematic person is the problem. I used to be bullied for my art because I was trying to find a style a long time ago and it DID drive me away from showing my art for years. Most of this hate came from my SIBLINGS and FAMILY of all people. So I can relate and show compassion for these beginner artists getting hated and ridiculed.

So if you are a beginner artist, just know that it's important to NEVER EVER give up and find ways and styles that can help build up your art. In this day and age, there are lots of seasoned artists that have easy to follow video tutorials absolutely everywhere that will help you improve your art! In my early days I used to base my art on people I followed, tutorials via book or video, drawing bases, coloring books, and even oc maker games. I grew up the majority of my childhood offline so I wasn't really introduced to the art side of the internet until 2014, so I used to draw whatever cartoon was on the TV. Nonetheless, never be discouraged to post your art online bad or good since at the end of the day, you are showing your creativity to many eyes. Another thing is to not rely on likes or views for validation on your art. You do not need other people's validation for your creativity. Your creativity is unique to you, don't let other people dictate how you should draw EVER.

Just be honest and unique about your creativity and somebody somewhere will love you for that. 💚
