Something Very Stupid And TTRPG-Related I Found
In other news, I found something very stupid related to tabletop RPGs, and I had to share it with you.
So, there’s a tabletop RPG module for Lamentations of the Flame Princess* called "One Thousand Dead Babies." Because Lamentations of the Flame Princess is Like That...
...Okay, for a long story short, LotFP is an extremely gory/edgy D&D retroclone that embodies everything wrong with that scene, to the point where folks creating for it are pretty suspect, tho the author of this module (Zzarchov Kowolski) doesn’t appear to have that much on his record aside from collaborations with someone who made a really awful edgelord Willy Wonka-themed dungeon amongst others.
But, while the adventure was surprisingly significantly less edgelord-y than I expected, the reason for the title is funny in a literally cursed sort of way.
Specifically, the antagonist in the adventure is a cult dedicated to Baphomet, and said evil cult in the adventure sacrifices a newborn baby every night. Like, they specifically say “newborm” baby.
And then you're left to wonder "Where the hell are they getting all these newborn babies?!" And, the answer...
Is so much stupider than you would think.
