Alice was only five years old when her mother died. She was at an age where she hadn’t truly understood what had happened other then her mother had gone away. It wasn’t until a few years later that she would actually begin to grieve: 

a memory of them getting to know / meeting my muse 

Auror training had started just a few short weeks after graduating from Hogwarts. Walking into the office on her first day had been more relaxing then she had expected. She was finally there for herself an her own career, not on some errand for her father. Looking around at the actual aurors though, that had been a little nerve wracking. Alice was determined not to let her nerves show as she met the auror who would be primarily training her. Though she was sure that her sweaty palms and shaking hands had given away the fact that her calm face was all an act. She was nervous for a silly reason. It wasn’t failing that she feared but rather not being accepted for who she was. What she was. Being half-vampire wasn’t something she had been so worried about up until that moment. She knew that not everyone was going to be alright with that fact. It was something that she was able to keep hidden relatively well, so she was positive Alastor Moody couldn’t even tell at first glance. The first thing they’d spoken about though, the first thing she’d been taught by everyone around her for this training program, was that trust was a key element among aurors. If she kept this a secret then she wouldn’t be able to even trust herself.
