Each day I show up to work I'm more convinced that this might not be too bad to do forever. I'm outside all day, I'm making a difference, and I see it happen each day as the island improves. The only con is that its so, so far from home. Wherever that is to me now. I try not to think about it too hard. Rose

My kava party was a success! I learned to make kava and it wasn't half bad. All the interns and Makoa came to try it out, hang out, and dance. I also finally met Kai. He was at the picnic table behind the apartment, sad because of a recent breakup. So now I have three friends - a smart, dedicated friend (Belle), a friend who isn't sure where they want to go (Duane), and... a breakup friend. We made a pact to try out best in the internship and to work hard. Then, we will check in with each other at the end of the internship. The only way out is through! And I'm glad to have a friend who is going through the same thing. Rose
