Small yips sounded from the feline as she slept, eyes moving rapidly beneath lids as the nightmare swept over Zandria. It was a rare occurrence, they coming few and far between but the one was especially nasty. In it the feline was running through the woods, barely able to stay afoot as branches seemed to lift, wishing her to fall. Laughter that could be described as nothing other than evil followed behind, instilling a fear within that threatened to freeze her body, a deer caught in the glare of a bright light. From the left a force shoved at her, caused her to jerk in the opposite direction with shoulder hitting against the tree there. Crystalline eyes were wide in fear as she searched about, not finding the source of the shove…but all too suddenly darkness consumed followed by her own scream.Hands shook at the Miqo’te, tried to wake her as her screams echoed out into the night.“Zandria, WAKE UP.”The forceful tone had the small of her body jerking forward, eyes widening with rage yet they were unseeing; instinctually she grabbed the knife kept at her belt, shoved in and up towards the left shoulder - it parted flesh and stabbed the organ that tried to beat around it, blood flowing from the wound and from a familiar mouth as a cough was forced from his lungs.Only when blood splattered on features did sanity return, Zandria staring at Cuinn mere inches away. But something was wrong - her hand grasped an object, it sticky with some form of liquid, he too close. Lips parted but no words could be said, her gaze moving down until they focused on the hilt that protruded from flesh. Hastily she released her grip, body shaking as a sob pressed from her chest.“Cuinn…I didn’t, ohgoddess…” Trying to reign her body under control, the woman ripped at her shirt, used the cloth to press into the wound and perhaps stop some of the bleeding. But her aim had struck true and no amount of healing might save him, not in time. “I didn’t mean to…” Lips trembled as she helped ease the Xaela to the ground, bowed over him.“Please don’t die, please don’t die…” Over and over she murmured as she tried her best to stop the bleeding but soon enough, his last breath expelled, green eyes lifeless as they stared out. Oh gods, what had she done? for @maybeimawhale

361: I went back to the sketch and fleshed it out. I actually really enjoy drawing like this and I'm not sure why I don't do it more. I'm trying to give my natural style a little love now.
