    Pauline had always hated these kind of parties. Well, maybe not always. Back when her mother had still been alive she had always envied her for being able to dress up and go to a party and she´d considered sneaking out just to follow her, but ever since her mother had passed away her father had changed. He´d paraded her around in front of everyone and left her to her own devices when they had returned home or all guests had gone.

    She had been scanning the crowd, shushing away boys who came up to her just to bore her with their meaningless words. They didn´t as much care for her as they cared for the privilege and the chance to eventually inherit her father´s company. 

   When her eyes finally found who she was looking for Pauline´s lips curved into a smile and she made her way through the crowd, hands coming up from behind to cover his eyes.
