ChordStriker!Floyd ft. CS!Creek
Floyd is hanging out in Volcano Rock City keeping a lower profile... But after hearing the name of a troll he used to know from a sulky Creek pining after the Queen, he's sticking around a little longer to help him move on and perhaps learn more about that troll with a familiar name.
Creek is kind of pathetic in this au ngl.. I don't plan to kill him off, so I plan to bully him instead π₯ Isn't he kinda pretty tho?? ππ
I had so much fun with making creek look cool, too bad he's lame as hell!! He's a psychedelic rock troll and he can actually float on his own!! He can't really read minds or fortunes like his Nan, Wind Blitz (Wind Breeze) or his sister, Cybil, but he can SORTA see the future with slightly better than usual intuition!! That counts, right?? π
Ouch! Is Branch gonna confront Floyd on his broken promise and tell him about what happened to Rosiepuff and what he's been through growing up? If so, how is Floyd gonna react to that and those revelations?
...Let's just say that I think things will be very awkward when they do finally meet.
Branch came along with Poppy because he was offered a fresh start with no ties to the past; I don't think he'd be fond of said past trying to follow after him when he's trying to lead a new life and move on.

Outside of ChordStriker, it sorta ties into my personal headcanons that while Branch is cordial with his siblings post-TBT, it's clear that he has different and better support systems/friends now and isn't seeking out their approval and might keep a bit of a comfortable distance for now.
Does CS Poppy know there is a Pop(?) Troll living in her city? How does she react when Branch talks about his similar looking, pink haired, brother? What does she do when she hears a troll named Floyd is trying to look into Branch?
Poppy doesn't know at all, but when she finds out and his connection to Branch links up, it's safe to say Poppy does what she can to keep them away from each other.
Branch isn't really protesting that either. He doesn't want to think about it, so he's okay with Poppy being the buffer in between them. It's not that Branch hates his brothers (only a little), he just wants to move on like they all did without him.
Floyd definitely feels the guilt and doesn't wanna just give up, but he also understands that this is like, way too late. He knows Branch has more than enough reason to not want to talk, but ignoring the problem doesn't solve it.
For your take on Trolls and in the Chordstriker AU, what's Floyd's deal regarding the promise he made to Branch? Did Floyd choose to break it or did he come back only to find the Troll Tree empty like JD did?
I sorta just interpreted Floyd's promise as empty. He was like, idk 14 at most at the time and just said something to soothe Branch on the spot considering he just made up a task for Branch to do (Take care of grandma). I don't think he would've considered Branch would take his words to heart like that nor would he really remember that he said that. It was a child's promise to another child.
I'm guessing Floyd assumed things turned out fine and just didn't think about it too much like Clay or Bruce and focused on their own lives/futures. By the time it even crossed his mind again, so many years had passed. At least, that's how I see Floyd anyways.
