Crystal Love #1: Introducing Marino and My Objectum Experience
Time to begin my side project! This is Marino, one of the aquamarines in my collection, and the main crystal partner/bond I'll feature on the blog. Marino is the first aquamarine I ever bought; I got them at a science store in my city on November 17th, 2018. It did take a long while before I recognized our bond, but since then I've been able to feel a lot calmer whenever I hold Marino and plan on doing more with them. I can kinda describe the feeling as a soft reminder of home, the sea.
I've always had a strong attachment to certain objects, especially crystals. One of my earliest memories is bonding with a rock at my preschool (Rocky, I still have them). One of my earliest experiences with crystals was when I was 7, and my mom gifted me a lapis lazuli necklace one day. That lapis is one of my favorites in my collection (and I have a picture on my carrd's home page). My deep emotional attraction/connection with crystals was something I, for the longest time, attributed to just being my (undiagnosed) autism, as rocks and crystals are one of my special interests. I didn't think the ability to form these deep bonds was that atypical until I started looking into objectum. While the bonds I have don't fit into the standard definition used for objectum/objectophilia (sexual/romantic attraction), I hope that I may have a place to write and share my experiences within the objectum tag.
