Is it possible Chara laughed off Asgores sickness due to knowing they could simply reset and do it right?

Note: This is based on the assumption that Chara had the power to reset (but may have never used it) considering the fallen humans had the power to save and load.
That’s probably not the case. If that is why Chara laughed, then they would have reset and there would be no evidence that the buttercup poisoning incident ever happened.
Flowey and Frisk discovered their powers of determination when they refused to die. For Chara who was safe with the monsters in the underground, it’s possible they never faced death until they consumed the buttercups as part of their plan.
