I just found your account and first of all, your art style is amazing and blows me away!! the way all your colors look cohesive is just chef's kiss!!
and secondly, it is such a nice feeling, as a mobility aid user, to see someone draw disabled people and mobility aid users. Even though I've been using my cane for years, I still have that little voice that makes me scared of using it and I think that's mainly because I never see any representation...
sorry for the rant haha your art is just amayzin!
No need to apologize!
It’s really amazing hearing how my art has both inspired and touched other disabled people — it means a lot to me because starting my art journey online was rough and I felt very “niche” and not many people liked my stuff for a long while! I only started getting positive comments around 2021/2022!
I love drawing mobility aids, truly. It feels like it’s what i’m /meant/ to do. All the comments, messages, and kind words people have spoken to me just for simply sharing my life and experiences and other disabled people’s views means the world to me.
I personally haven’t struggled with that little voice in your head — but my words of advice is that the world is too short to worry about what other people think of you at first glance. If they aren’t willing to hear you out for more than 2 minutes — then just live your life free from their thoughts! Disabled people have been shunned for too long, even thinking back to “ugly laws” we were forced indoors and locked up just for being disabled. It’s not right. Don’t let lock yourself up like those that have hurt us all. You can go out and live your life, differently than others, because everyone does that! Even able-bodied peoples lives are each uniquely different!
Thank you for the message!
NOT WHAT IM CALLED
Idk if this writer has a blog on here, but there's this writer on ao3 called Cryptskeep who started a scarian fic called dance dance revolution and I love the way they portrayed grian and scar I was never in dsmp but they wrote some dsmp fics way back when and bc of how good their writing is on the scarian fic... I ended up reading the dsmp fics too
banger writer honestly
@cryptskeep !!!
hi evilblockwizard!! first of all, love your art Second of all, I absolutely wanna hear about grian disability metaphors <- lit minor with a focus on disability in lit
hello! thank you!! that’s a sick minor, i fucking love that actually
being forced to hide something so integral to your being, whether you want it to be there or not, is like fighting a battle that never ends. when you have an invisible disability, you have two choices: go through the rigorous, torturous, needlessly challenging processes of getting help, OR, grin & fucking bear it.
so so so SO many real disabled people in real life grin & bear it. it’s easier, after all, and usually allows for more freedoms within our systems. when people know there’s something wrong with you, they Will treat you different. if you act like you’re fine, well, then everyone will treat you just the same! not to mention the costs of getting help. how much you must give up, must sacrifice, to be able to receive help. it’s intentionally hard, of course; they don’t want to give us the help we need. they want us to die.
being a watcher is something that impedes on grian’s life and ability to function. watchers don’t have normal diets, meaning grian needs different. um, ‘food’ accommodations. watcher’s sight can cause migraines, fatigue, and fainting spells. and like, grian’s face is disfigured; he has no mouth. no nose.
he’s different. he’s not like everyone else, but he hides it. he keeps it hidden on purpose because it’s easier to just walk on a bad leg than it is to haul around a cane. he doesn’t ask for help because he doesn’t want to be a bother, but more importantly, he doesn’t want to make it real. plus, what good is asking for help going to do? it’s so much work, it’s such a process, it’s going to make his life difficult somehow. and everyone will treat him different. treat him like the monster that he is.
hope that makes sense haha. i thought about it during my shift bc i have to hide my own disability to keep a job. & thought about the similarities between the 24/7 surveillance capitalist society we live in & the watchers, lol

hi, your local insane about wato guy
72 with kenwato :]
kiss prompts — 72. when one person's face is scrunched up, and the other one kisses their lips/nose/forehead
wato exerts his god given right to bully ken at every possible opportunity. be mean to your partners for valentines

"You're really cute when you don't get it," Wato says. Ken's face scrunches up more as he attempts to glare. Wato's still in spectator, though, so Ken's looking a little to his right. He laughs and switches into creative. Ken flushes and adjusts accordingly. Nothing about this interaction proves Wato wrong at all.
