Understanding TRON Super Representatives
Super Representatives (SRs) are the main actors who ensure the performance and integrity of the TRON network. These actors are elected in a more or less democratic voting process where any person holding TRX may take part in it. To present an account as a candidate for the secluded home in the rank of super representatives a candidate must deposit an account with 9,999 TRX. While the top 27 winners, whose votes exceed a certain number of votes are referred to as super representatives and hold the duty of block production, the candidates 28-127 are called super representative partners (SRP) who do not engage in block production but collect rewards.
Voting Rights and TRON Power (TP) In order to vote for a super representative, a user is required to possess TRON Power (TP) which is given to members of the network upon staking TRX. For each TRX staked, one TRON Power (TP) is earned and voting rights are granted. It must be remembered however, that when the TRX is unstacked the respective TP is also lost and all votes cast are rendered void. Vote is done in every six hours and only the most recent vote of that account is counted hence prompt voting is of importance.
Reward Structure Super representatives earn block and vote rewards:
Block Rewards: Each time an SR produces a block, the SR is rewarded with 16 TRX, which is later paid to the voters in proportion to their votes cast after subtracting the commission.
Vote Rewards: In addition to block rewards, every block has an extra 160 TRX reserved for both the SRs and the SRPs who vote.
The commission is placed by default at 20% and this means super representatives take this percentage as a cut from the total rewards before the rest is shared out.
Examples of Reward Calculation As an illustration, assume a super representative has 1,233,278,454 votes and the broker ratio is 10%, which allows the following calculations:
Block Reward: 1,706 TRX Vote Reward: 19,610 TRX Total Reward: 21,316 TRX
Governance and Proposals The super representatives governing the TRON network are responsible for the governance of the platform by forming a group that makes pocket adjustments in the various network parameters such as the block rewards and transaction rate, Among all super representatives, SRPs and candidates can make their own proposals, amendments, and changes, but only the newly elected super representative ones have the right to vote - so-called - that is decision making proposals. Any such proposal is subject to not less than 18 super representative votes where a maximum of three days is allowed for voting.
