“You proooooobably don’t wanna’ go in this room, Adam.”

Well, that looked like bad news - and it wasn’t just with the hedgehog’s words. He was stood in front of the kitchen door, leaning against the frame with clearly forced grin.

Okay, so MAYBE he shouldn’t have tried cooking something in the other’s absence, and maybe trying to make chocolate waffles was a bad idea - as evidenced by the burning smell currently floating through the door’s cracks, smoke included - but he was hungry, okay? Hungry for chocolate waffles!

Staring was rude, that had been barked at Marion many times throughout his life, yet despite that he never bothered to avert his gaze when he wanted. Why should he? It wasn’t actually rude if you asked him, just one of the nonsense societal rules enforced to keep people in place. It was nice to be looked at, anyway.

He could have sworn he’d seen the man before him somewhere and from the way the other was looking at him too-or rather the spirit doll clutched in Marion’s grip he’d just gotten his hands on, there was something just odd about the whole thing. Could he tell, or was this just the average kind of weird look any young adult man would receive walking around with an old Victorian doll?
