The tension in the air was a bit too familiar to Kyland, he, however, was more than just relaxed. That was something his father had taught him long ago when he was first coming into his Kingdom. Now he had a pack of his own, of great and loyal wolves and he wasnât about to let a war start over something as ridiculous as old age traditions. The King could tell that Siboney was less than happy about being back at her parentsâ home and in all honesty Kyland didnât blame her. The people across the massive table were trying their best to be intimidating but Kyland had a leg up on them, sure they might have been around the same age as far as royalty went but he did not agree with that it was left to them to keep the pure bloodline going. It was absurd.Â
With the smallest of grins Kyland nodded as they were invited to finally sit down, pulling out the chair for Siboney the alpha soon followed suit in sitting down. He had knew what this was about but he wasnât sure if Siboney did, he hadnât told her much, just that her parents had wished to speak to them both. Steven, of course, was appalled that he couldnât come along as well-- not even as the âroyal bodyguardâ. The least they did was leave him out by the vehicle, heâd been their driver. But since he was not a royal and Kyland knew that Siboneyâs parents did not wish for Steven to be there things were arranged to keep him out of the home.Â
Here they sat, postures much like those of dignitaries and royals, ready to go to war with their words. Something Kyland had not needed to put into practice for quite some time but by no means was lacking in skill. His tongue was forked and sharp, much like that of his mother, his father might have ruled the land but it was his mother that had taught him the way of words. Clearing his throat Kyland folded his hands on the table and perched forward a bit.
âBefore we get started--- milday, milord--- I would like to have it on       the record that any violence or threats towards my Pack will not be       taken lightly. I WILL do what I must in order to protect my Pack and       your daughter is included in that protection. In case you are unfamiliar      with me--- I am of the Corbell clan, the ones who fought in the blood      wars all those centuries ago-- Sometimes I can still smell the crimson      tainting of the blood-- Iâm sorry, I reminiscence too often. Now, shall we      start?â
He wasnât trying to be cruel, but he couldnât help but want to intimidate the thrones sitters as Richard so affectionately called them from time to time. The Royals that really didnât do anything but sit around and quack orders while their people did all the work. Kyland believed differently, if a man or woman could not work for their country then they did not deserve to be leader.
