request: hayashida comes home from fighting genji and sees his s/o in a tree but ends up scaring her and sending her to the hospital.

i hope you like this! i tried my best to portray rindaman as good as i could, lmk how i did. this was fun to do!

megumi was tired. he just wanted to rest and spend time with you, that's all. that didn't seem like much to ask given everything he's had to go through. apparently, it was too much.

you were in a tree. you were in a goddamn tree just trying to get down and megumi being the precious boyfriend that he is, went to help you and instead startled you.

one minute you were gradually climbing down and the next, you were free falling onto the ground. the drop wasn't terrible, but you still suffered injuries. hearing you scream in fear and watching you fall awkwardly on your left side, gave megumi a type of fear he had never known.

rushing over to you, megumi attempted to calm you while getting in contact with the proper authorities. when the ambulance arrived, it was a mess. you were crying because everything hurt, megumi was crying because he was upset that you were hurt because of him. the paramedics couldn't tell which one of y'all needed help at first.

you had stopped crying but there was still a clear look of discomfort on your face when you were on your way to the hospital. megumi was balling (bless his heart) and holding your hand, speaking to you like you were going to die. everything would've been comedic if your entire left side didn't hurt every time you breathed.

megumi called everybody, he was such a frantic mess. the doctors had to separate him from you once you got admitted because he would not let go of your hand. once bouya and the others got there, megumi went and raided the gift shop.

the boys had never seen him this distraught in their lives. megumi was always known as "rindaman the murderer", a strong but silent man who could defeat a hundred men easily. this megumi was completely different to what they were used to.

“uhhh don’t you think you have enough teddy bears?” bouya asked the jittery man.

megumi, surrounded by bears and flowers in the waiting room, shook his head. “no, but this is all they had.”

“jesus christ.” bouya muttered under his breath, eyeing the man weirdly.

“l/n y/n?” a doctor had called out, stepping into the waiting area.

megumi was first on his feet, gifts flying, in an effort to get the news from the doctor as quick as possible.

“how is she?!”

the doctor smiled at the young mans worry and patted his shoulder. “she’s fine, just a sprained arm and ankle. nothing a few days of bed rest won’t heal. you can see her now, she’s in room 101C just down the hall.”

megumi wasted no time getting to you, the boys taking the initiative to grab all the gifts your boyfriend had bought you to your room. there you were, snacking on jello, watching cartoons with a brace around your arm and an ice pack on your ankle. “oh angel i am so sorry!”

you smiled, already knowing your gentle lover was stressing himself sick over something that was purely accidental. “baby it’s okay! my clumsy ass just got taken by surprise and fell. besides, it’s only a sprain.”

that wasn’t enough, megumi was still worried and racked with guilt over the what-ifs. “no, it’s my fault for frightening you. i got you a few things from the gift shop to help cheer you up.”

before you could even protest, bouya and the boys came in, holding the entire gift store in their arms. without thinking, you brought your hand up and smacked your forehead in disbelief.

“megumi! what is all this? and why?!”

bouya came beside you to place some of the items on the floor, arms sore from the weight. “your freakishly strong boyfriend is the biggest sap on the planet. i don’t know how you did it, but you’ve got my respect.” he joked, mentioning how surprising it must be to have such a feared man be so soft to his significant other.

megumi shooed everyone out after they dropped the stuff off and closed the door, sulking pitifully at his own guilt. you playfully rolled your eyes, knowing you’d have to baby him into believing that it wasn’t his fault. “c’mere my love.” you cooed, scooting over as gently as you could so that megumi could lay next to you.

“i don’t want to hurt you.” he pouted, apprehensive of your injuries.

“boy if you don’t get over here and hold me!” you scolded, but in a loving way.

megumi didn’t need to be told again as he hastily made his way next to you, careful of your arm as he snuggled you into him.

“i really am sorry angel.” he whispered, pressing a firm kiss to your temple and cheek.

“i know baby but it wasn’t your fault and i need you to know that, understand?”

megumi nodded, gently squeezing your non-injured hand. “understand. i love you.”

you grinned, adoring your boyfriend for his gentleness. “i love you more my love. i love you more...”
