The wind ruffled Crowbar's hair as he stared out the open window. The city was dead, disconcertingly quiet like it had been murdered in the night. He would have stood at that window til the dawn came and the morning traffic with it. Would had stood there til the sun came to warm his cold bones, but then his crowbar whispered comfort to him in the voice of a snake, and he knew that he had had too much to drink.
