RWBY x Tales of (Weiss Schnee Mystic Artes)
A commission of my RWBY Destiny of Remnant OC Heliosia Ainea (The beautiful girl with pyrokinesis powers) and Frozen's gorgeous Queen Elsa by the talented artist Fuyukichi from Deviantart! Enjoy! I especially love how she drew the elemental dynamics between Heliosia and Elsa, as they were both able to wield the power of the elements; i.e. Heliosia with the power of fire and Elsa with the power of ice. Truth be told, a few bits and pieces of Heliosia’s character arcs are definitely inspired from Queen Elsa’s journey through the Frozen movies! Currently in a bit of a FROZEN mood at the moment, ever since I saw the movie! I love Elsa's new outfit design in the “Show Yourself” sequence so much! Thank you so much Fuyukichi! My Lackadaisy x Boardwalk Empire crossover continues with Richard Harrow!
I ended up making this one a lot more cartoonish than my Nucky piece, mainly because I didn't have to fuss over drawing bare skin - things become much cuter with fur!! Richard's cat appearance is loosely based on a black and white kitty I had named Pebble, who sadly passed when he was still a very young man... the bittersweet feeling fits all too well for this particular character. I also wanted splotchy fur to emphasize the imbalance brought on by his prosthetic mask, and I think the black and white works to show off the contrast of his character as well - on one hand, a pure and sweet man. On the other, a ruthlessly efficient killer!
The third entry in my Lackadaisy x Boardwalk Empire series, Gillian Darmody!
I had some trouble deciding how to depict her at first, as there's no one outfit that really screams 'Gillian' to me. But when thinking of this character, there is a specific scene that my mind always goes to - one so vicious and cathartic - which I decided to depict here instead. If you know, you know!
As for her cat design, I did think about going for a more brownish look like a calico or tortoiseshell - but I didn't want to accidentally cross over with Mitzi's color pallet too much. More importantly, I wanted to give a striking sort of dichotomy to her appearance - one that might capture the extremities of her character. Hope folks enjoy ^^
Lackadaisy x Boardwalk Empire crossover...!
As I've been rewatching the series, I really wanted to try depicting some of the Boardwalk Empire characters as cats that could fit into the Lackadaisy universe - and if there was one thing I was sure of, it was that Nucky Thompson would be a hairless cat! I mean... just look at the guy.
Sadly I don't think I quite did either series justice since my expertise is Cute Anime Girls and not life drawing or cartoon cats, but! I still had a lot of fun doing Something A Little Different and hope to try my hand with a few other cast members as well ^^
