There's no term that matches Soulmate without being seen as romantic, and honestly? That sucks. So I offer up my own term.

Crossmate

Definition: A person that shares a strong bond, beyond just a platonic or romantic relationship.

The etymology of crossmate is Cross, as in crossing a standard or crossing worlds, and mate, a person. In other words, if someone is your crossmate, your bond crosses beyond worlds. This matches with Soulmate, where you have a bond so strong it connects your souls.
