Cross Mountain - January 2015 This interesting juxtaposition of a large grass plant and a mesquite tree is on Cross Mountain in Fredericksburg, Texas. It really isn’t a mountain, but it is a rather large hill and there is a cross on the top of it. The cross is visible just above and to the left of the large grass plant and is seen clearly in the second image, which is a long range shot of the “mountain.” MWM

View from atop Kreuzberg - January 2015 Just outside of Fredericksburg, Texas, is a rather big hill with a cross on top of it. That cross, or its predecessor, has been there since 1847. The original German settlers therefore called it Kreuzberg, or Cross Mountain. The cross itself isn’t that spectacular. In fact, it’s sort of a let down, but the view from the high hill is very nice. I shot this image from along the roadway about three-fourths of the way up the hill. MWM
