Tamper Room, 43737 Boscell Rd, Fremont, CA 94538
I’m always looking for a good place to camp and the new Tamper Room fits the bill. It’s a coffeehouse and art gallery that hopes to be a space for the creative community. They sell framed art, stickers, jewelry, greeting cards, candles, soaps, ceramics, tote bags, and more from local artists. There’s a cutesy/Kawaii, Asian American theme to the art. White Rabbit candy and bunnies appear in some of the art. Pretty sure the café is Asian-owned.
For drinks, they have your usual espresso drinks, made with Ikon Coffee Roasters (roasted in South San Francisco). For food, they have a pastry case and made-to-order croiffle toasts.
Avocado croiffle toast ($11.50): The thick croiffle had a satisfying extra crispy exterior and a softer, chewier interior. It was sweet and buttery. They topped it with yuzu avocado mash, alfalfa sprouts, sliced grape tomatoes, and microgreens, chewy, sweet, lots of avocado. The croiffle toast was carefully assembled with generous toppings and it was seasoned well. It’s smaller but the croiffle is rich.
Flat white ($5.75): stronger in flavor and flavorful, nice foam art
Wish there were more food options (and maybe there will be) but the atmosphere is very relaxed and good for camping. The bathroom smelled nice. There are outlets and easy parking. The chairs aren’t the most comfortable but they’re not too bad. The music is relaxing and I liked the artwork.
