Afterthoughts on ‘Parasite’
Class aspiration without the abolition of class structure sustains the system of inequality. An Ouroborous of the poor devouring each other is the cog of capitalism’s engine; entrenching the upper class’s status.
Climbing the social ladder reinforces the capitalist system that built it. Rising above poverty without challenging the structures that created it is a mere swapping of oppressors. Mobility, but within the system: Neo-liberalism. Only class solidarity through wholesale rejection of class structure will elevate the working class in transformative ways.
Personal aspiration must dissolve into collective action for true social change. The only way up is up together.
