CRISMAN - “Surprise”, off the Denton-TX based band’s self-titled debut out now via Topshelf Records

Denton, TX -- If you’re in need of some calming music, especially amid all the panic, give Crisman’s newest track “Icee Blue” a spin. The track is just under 4 minutes long and its gentleness will bring you some serenity. From the soft vocals harmonies to the lightness of the instrumentation, “Icee Blue” captures the warm feelings of a budding love. There’s a delicate shyness to the track that makes is intoxicating to listen to - falling in love is truly an unbeatable high.

Crisman is out April 3 via Topshelf Records.

Denton, TX -- The second single from Crisman’s upcoming S/T album is titled “Cya”. The track is just a little over 2 minutes long but it gives you a taste of lo-fi indie rock with some sweet licks of the electric guitar. The pacing of the song has a steadiness to it that gives the a song a soft lull and Madeline Dowd’s vocals has the perfect softness as well. “Cya” perfectly captures this lethargic feel of already wanting to see someone and it feels like an eternity before you see them again. The distortion on this track definitely rips so sit back and enjoy the journey of all the textures.

Crisman is the bedroom crash pop project of Madeline Dowd, a visual artist and songwriter who left Georgia for Texas, and -- not unlike fellow Lone Star State nu-slocore makers Lomelda and Hovvdy -- found herself in a sound that speaks of surrealist nostalgia against the background of the quiet rapture of reality. Alongside band members Boone Patrello and Grahm Robinson, they recorded their eponymous third full-length effort and will release it this April on Topshelf Records.

First listen “Surprise” highlights Dowd’s playful vocals around a tumbling spin cycle of softly crushed reverb and rhythmic pin drops. “Ive been looking at you / You're clear, like you're not here,” Dowd floats throgh. “Touching air feels kinda strange / Come back, your gone, I'm wrong.” Find out Crisman below.

Denton, TX -- Crisman will be releasing their upcoming S/T album on April 3 via Topshelf Records. Take a listen to the first single titled “Surprise,” a track that comes just under 2 minutes long. After the 35 second intro, the song kicks into a familiar warmth of DIY, lofi rock that is really reminiscent of Girlpool’s 2015 album Before the World Was Big. The song is about remembering childhood memories and those early feelings of wanting to be included and feeling misunderstood. There’s a soft haziness to the track that has a bit of nostalgia tinted to it.
