Attorney Clay (Closed RP)
@crimson-prosecutor
How long were they going to make him wait this time? Ten minutes? Another hour? Each minute that continued to pass was another minute he should be spending pouring over the case notes, not sitting in the police station waiting for even more paperwork and a list of the evidence registered for that trial. Part of his mind wondered if it was truly worth the wait, evidence always got withheld or one of the reports gets miraculously updated without anyone batting an eyelid... Unless you happened to be the defense, and that had to be one of the most frustrating part of a trial, oh and maybe the defendant being found guilty but he had yet to make that happen and Clay intended to keep it that way.
He began to pace the corridor impatiently the soft soles of his shoes occasionally squeaking on the tiled floor much to the receptionists annoyance. Shooting her an apologetic look he opted to sit on a wooden bench between a couple of rather questionable looking individuals.
It was funny how his life got turned upside down, a year ago he had been an astronaut in training, all starry eyed and full of boundless enthusiasm and now he’d but that on hold in order to become an attorney.
He wring his hands nervously as he recalled that day a year ago when he’d last had a proper conversation with Apollo.... Well maybe conversation was not quite the correct word. He remembered finding it odd that the man would suddenly become a prosecutor just like that however Clay had decided as a friend to confront him about a few rumors he had heard in regards to his career in law, that was not what his Apollo was like, he felt it was a misunderstanding and he’d been wrong, so very wrong and he had paid the price.
Despite studying solidly as well as having a few strings pulled by a certain Mr Wright whom Apollo had hero worshiped growing up the same way he had idolised Sol. Everything the now former astronaut worked for was to battle his once best friend in the court room in hopes that maybe , just maybe he could try to remind him who he was. He was Apollo Justice, his best friend and not this twisted cruel prosecutor he had become. Then again if clay had truly been considered a friend he wouldn’t have been to humiliated in such a manner. Even now he was perhaps a little fearful of the man now, common sense would dictate that he should have moved on and continued with his true ambition and yet Clay could not give up on him.
/I’m a fucking idiot/
He mused as he let out a sigh in hopes that either Detective Gumshoe or Detective Skye would just drop the reports in his lap. then again the longer he lingered in the station the more chance he’d have to face Apollo and he couldn’t not fathom if he actually wanted that encounter to happen or not.
