âG-Gah!â Morgan nearly jumped in his skin, not only as a result from someone speaking to him and startling him from behind, but also knowing exactly who that voice belonged to. They didnât know each other well, but they were at the very least acquainted, and, well...it was impossible to not know who Hubert was and his agenda around the monastery...which had little to do with the monastery itself and everything to do with Edelgard. He was really hoping this wouldnât be the first person he was going to run into...but of course it was. Hubert legitimately terrified him, but he tried to keep the shakiness out of his voice as he replied, with only a moderate amount of success.
âE-Er, no, no, nothing like that. I donât know what reason heâd have to have me spy on you in the first place, considering The Battle of the Eagle and Lion already happened, and if he was gonna send anyone to spy on you, thereâs no way itâd be me. Iâm a bit too social, sometimes too much so for my own good.â Not to mention there was already existing suspicion about him and his house. Claude knew Morgan had enough to deal with in that regard, and wouldnât add to that, not to mention that even if there was a reason for spying, that suspicion would already make it very difficult. âI came here of my own volition. I just wanted to get to know some of my other classmates better, since Iâve...well, letâs be honest, under the circumstances Iâve been dealing with, Iâve spent a lot of time hiding away with the rest of my house, because anywhere else I know Iâll get those accusatory stares, and even with my house thereâs a bit of concern. But the way I see it, I wonât get rid of those negative preconceptions if donât let others get to know me so, I uh...thought Iâd get to know you and the rest of the Black Eagles better and then do the same with the Blue Lions later on...a-assuming any of you even want to know me better in the first place...â
