Benjamin had wanted a cat for some time now. It only seemed fitting given his pseudonym. He went along the cages at the local Humane Society, Some weren’t very friendly, hissing and meowing angrily as he passed. Some others, however, were a lot more affectionate. They rubbed up against the cages, purring gently.
He found himself particularly fond of an orange cat, who seemed to like him back. He noticed footsteps and looked up. Once the stranger came in, everything in the room seemed to go silent. Ben’s eyebrows pulled together. That was... strange. “Guess you kind of have a way with animals?” he guessed, tilting his head.
