I just watched the trailer for the upcoming Indian horror film 'Creature 3D'. It was terrifyingly....boring. The hero of the film, Pakistani Casanova Imran Abbas Naqvi, has no dialogue for the trailer's two and a half minutes, and is not even visible for 90% of that time. It was hyped that the film was taking inspiration from 'Jurassic Park' and 'Predator'. Yes, it's the typical thing to expect from Bollywood: no original ideas, just recycled B-products from Hollywood blockbusters. But at least JP and Predator were good films (and they are both getting rebooted) and a 'Creature' inspired from these movies ought to at least look terrifying. Sadly, the beast is copied and pasted from a mediocre movie (The Amazing Spiderman).

Yes, people. Using terrible animation, unchecked lighting (which can decide the performance of a horror movie) and sounds which are reproduced from toilet flushing, the Lizard from TASM is back (and he had to come to India). The likeness is so similar, it would be a crime not to point it out at once.

And now for our heroine, Bipasha Basu. Girl, fans love you but YOU ARE NOT ELLEN RIPLEY. Period.

Well, that's all I can say. Best of luck to Creature 3D. I hope it turns out to be better than what we can expect, having seen the trailer. And Imran, don't disappoint all those fangirls back in Pakistan who were drooling through Hum Na Rahein Hum.
