Lazul sat at their desk humming a soft tune they had sung to their children. Glancing to their other kids they smiled softly in a sad manner knowing the other little ones wished to their dear sibling , silver.

A sign left their scaled mouth feeling a lonely pit form in their stomach one drenched with worry and fear. They had a feeling something bad happened and it was knawing at them.

The feelings lifted when strong arms wrapped around their waist and their dearest love nuzzled his snout between their neck. "You are stressing yourself out " firato said kissing his mate's neck. "can you blame ? One of our child is in lockdown ...and I worry for what results are give. ...it's been weeks...almost now months....even nightmare won't tell us things " lazul explained.

They were shut up when firato kissed their lips "you know our sweet boy is strong and will fight through this " he pointed out pulling a chair to sit directly behind his mate. Arms nestled around their waist and his hands massaging their fins on the back.

A phone ringing sliced through the silence as lazul plucked the phone from copper's hand. The young female deep sea drake worried and eager to see knees about her dearest oldest sibling.

Answering without hesitation lazul asked "hello-"

"FIRE , FIRE EFFECTS THEM OH FUCKING HELL" glacier panicked yelled startled the family as lazul put the phone on speaker from panic hearing the loud anger and fear in glacier's voice.

"My child what -" "mum , dad listen I- silver oh fucking damn it !! He's gone ! He's - his face - her body just - no no no damn it ! It's our fault ! "

"Glacier ! My child please " lazul begged clutching the phone while staring in shock while firato froze hearing the fear in his son voice.

"We should've done better damn it - DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY ! Mum , dad everyone I'm sorry ! Just- "

The phone getting cut off left the family in silence everyone taking their time to process what was spoke .

"...my....my child ?" Lazul asked softly words finally clicking allowing tears to hit the floor that fell from their face.

Silver was running or rather his body was, their face was enclosed with beautiful white blossoms and green shoots. Blood soaked whatever remained of their fur and scales. She couldn’t hear, she couldn’t see, he couldn’t think. Like a small flash, they saw a blurry outline of a white body and pale blue markings. The body lay sprawled on the ground, covered in pools of blood.

Smoke began to fume around them and the entity of Silver dispersed. The creature screamed, its tail being lit on fire and they broke out into a run once more. There was the sound of sirens, wailing, screaming, but the creature could hear none of it.

The white flower creature slowed its movements, claws stabbing viciously at any living creature that neared it. More sirens approached but they kept a distance. The walking corpse began to approach a small house near the waterfront. It could sense movement.

*Why….here…leave…alone…leave…* Her brain fought for control, their conscious wanting so badly to move their body away from the home he grew up in, the home he could feel the remainder of their family in. But the infection didn’t listen, it didn’t care, it was hungry. IT WOULD FEED.

A loud crash of windows exploded within the home. There came the screams of Silver’s siblings from inside.

**Run kids!! Go into the water!!”** A voice shouted, ushering the kids out of the back door. It was the wolf drake’s father, Firato. The flame coloured deep sea drake ushered the kids away and into the water leaving Lazul standing face to face with what was once their child.

Lazul’s eyes flooded with tears. Their heart feeling like it was breaking in pieces right before their eyes but they could not think as the creature rushed them, it’s sweet and bloody stench permeating the household. Lazul managed to dodge it, running towards the kitchen. The mother drake fumbled around in a drawer fighting to find a lighter which they ultimately did.

Low, sickening gurgles came from behind them and the drake quickly dashed out of the way. Their arm caught hold of a bottle of sanitizing spray and their body whipped around to face the inhuman creature.

Eyes pooling with tears they held the lighter up with the can behind it. They flicked the lighter on and, with broken words, uttered. **”My child… I love you with all my heart…with all my soul. I’m sorry mommy couldn’t be there to protect you… to protect you all..”** their words ceased as the creature twisted its plant covered body closer.

*Mother…I’m…..here…please…* It was the only thing she could think and their mind faded to complete darkness. The infected plant then lunged for Lazul and Lazul pushed the spray down behind the flames shooting a burning wave of flames towards the monstrosity. Lazul screamed, feeling the heat reverberating around them. **”SILVER… IM SORRY… IM SO SORRY…”**

Lazul dropped the lighter and can, jumping out of the broken glass window and running down to the ocean, slipping their body within it and disappearing under the waves while the fires engulfed the once happy home behind them.
