When it's your own money that you're investing in your art, whether it be, you know, the mixing, the packaging, the mastering, you know, music videos, graphic design. I think every one of those dollars value a lot more. When you sign and you give away certain types of control, you're not in charge of how you're marketing, you're not in charge of how your music is packaged and presented to the world. And I think that when you are everything, that you control your whole image, you can be more genuine, and...with the way the decisions that you make and the way that you spend your money is more honest.
