"Totoro & you" - dedication
Ok, for the ask game. 8, 20, 62, 68, 83, 85, 88, 98
Hello! I was hoping someone would actually be in my inbox about this particular ask game because these asks are FUN, so thank you.
8. movies or tv shows?
TV shows, but only because when I get like an hour or so in between classes or work to watch something while I eat, Iâll go for a TV show just for convenience's sake. Â
20. preferred place to write (i.e., in a note book, on your laptop, sketchpad, post-it notes, etc.)?
I love writing in my notebooks (yes, plural, I have a problem and itâs called Indigo wants to take my money), especially when I just want to write anything and not have to think about what Iâm writing because when Iâm writing on my laptop, itâs usually a final draft which means I overthink everything. When I write by hand I feel less stressed about mistakes and I think thatâs why I also prefer writing outlines and notes by hand. Thereâs actually this thing that one of my teachers recommended years ago which is to take ten minutes to write down whatever it is that comes to mind, which is something that I think helps me clear my head or focus whether itâs when Iâm dealing with writerâs block (which is always) or even when I feel unmotivated (which is also always).
62. seven characters you relate to?
Thatâs actually kind of a hard question because there are characters you like but theyâre not necessarily characters that you relate to, yaâknow?
The first character that I relate to is probably Nick Miller from New Girl just because of what a hot mess he is and Iâm a lot like that, like that whole âi have no plan for my and I donât what Iâm doing with my life and I also have zero social skillsâ thing is who I am and Iâm trying not to be I swear. And I mean by that logic at some point I related to every main character on New Girl but whatever.
I also relate to Machi Kuragi from Fruits Basket for similar reasons, but it was like her being socially awkward and more of how she went from wondering why she exists in the first place to being more open to getting to know people and letting them in, which was nice to have when I was in middle school (which is when I read the manga) because I had a hard time talking to people and making friends and tried to isolate myself from others and I guess reading about Machi helped kind of be less scared of that.
Penelope Alvarez from One Day At A Time is another character that I relate to, but particularly when it comes to her relationship with her mother because Lydia was a lot like my own mother and grandmother, and some of the scenes that they shared were hard for me to watch because it just got too real (I have only ever watch 3x08 once, ONCE, because I could never get through it again).
The last character that Iâd say that I related to is Taani she-never-even-got-an-official-last-name from Dil Dosti Dance, but specifically the way her character was when initially came on the show because Taani was so comfortable with herself and doing shit that other people thought was weird (ie. talking to herself or not giving a fuck as she jammed out to her playlist in public and not even in a way that was an inconvenience to anyone around her). I think she had certain quirks and mannerisms that were similar to mine, and I kind of needed that at that age (again, this was middle school) because I was so uncomfortable with those aspects of my personality because other people thought it was weird. I think that Taani is probably one of the main reasons why I donât give a fuck about what certain people have to say and Iâm still mad that they botched all of that as the show went on and you never saw her be as optimistic or smile the way that she used to.
Iâm so sorry that I couldnât find seven characters that I relate to but also, Iâm so sorry that this ended up being so much longer than it needed to be.
68. worst flavour of any food or drink youâve ever tried?
Grape Fanta is the first thing that comes to mind, Iâm sorry, that shit was disgusting. Thereâs probably something worse that I canât think of at the moment, but wow I forgot how much I hated that one time I had Grape Fanta.
83. writing or drawing?
Writing! I canât draw.
85. fairy tales or mythology?
Both, but I lean more towards fairy tales because of the way theyâve been implemented into mainstream media aka Disney has all my money.
88. your greatest wish?
I wish that the world was a safer and less stressful af place for everyone to live in because no one should be scared to live their lives, thatâs really fucked up and I hope people realize that.
98. favourite historical era?
I donât know if I know enough about history to answer this question. :(
i had colin buchananâs âitâs raining at school todayâ stuck in my head and so naturally i turned it into a harry potter song... i have never wished to be able to draw more than in this very moment
.
Itâs raining at school today And we canât go outside to play So this is where weâre going to stay Stuck in the Common Room all day
Katie and Ange are plaiting hair Leeâs flying notes âround everywhere Fredâs levitating Hermioneâs chair Stuck in the Common Room
Colinâs flicking rubber bands Lavenderâs drawing on her nails and hands George is plotting, making plans Stuck in the Common Room
Parvatiâs chatting, Oliverâs bored Harryâs fighting Ron with a fake-wand sword Aliciaâs looking for an old chess board Stuck in the Common Room
Weâre trashing the joint, chucking âround toys Laughing, shouting, girls and boys And Percyâs screaming âStop that noise!â Stuck in the Common Room - all day!
