can the spirits age?
They don't age, nor do most beings in Smash. The only beings there that really age, or "age" rather, are Master Hand & Crazy Hand, and even then the only real change that happens as a result is their powers developing + them getting more in control of them. (The other core bosses' powers have already reached full maturity which is why I exclude them.)

So I found this again and had me thinking of the Hands basically networking with legendaries when they go to 'newly discovered' regions. Like them referring to asking them to take part in Smash as networking too.
Yeah considering just how many legendaries/mythicals from each region make it into each game it's absolutely on purpose. Especially when you consider that the super elusive Mew has been in every game thus far.
